Yes, the ending has to be good, otherwise all that angst feels like it was for nothing. Sadly very few dramas take the time give us a decent ending. All these additional episodes and epilogues are just patch-work and I find them rather pointless. It's like buying a car and the 4th tyre is a special edition that needs to be purchased seperately 🙄 I couldn't get through L&R... it felt like a xianxia version of Dawson's Creek to me and every 10 secs someone yelled "Si Feng" 😂

Thanks for the details. The writers behind this drama are guilty on so many accounts, but most of all they seem lazy. Why go for a complicated, nuanced character, when a stereotype is so much easier to write.

So my guess about the Royal Uncle being the villain behind it all turned out to be correct. I like the actor, he makes a 1st class villain in this role. The flashback to Chilan having to swear to her father (I presume, it's her father...) that she will pursue MuYan gives me a bad feeling... there may not be a happy ending for those two. Loved the choreography of that fight scene by the river! Some wuxia dramas should take note!
