Not biological brother. The Emperor just raised her cause her dad died.
I was merely replying to your statement "I can't see that happening in real life" to tell you that it does happen in real life, both today as throughout history, so this storyline is indeed plausible. I never said that I find it normal, acceptable or to quote your words, not weird. There are a good reasons for relations between blood-relatives being prohibited in most cultures.
Started watching this and while I find it quite entertaining, I feel a bit exasperated at the number of times (per episode!) that the ML has to carry the FL. Did Zheng YeCheng have a beef with the scriptwriter? I mean, we all know he's athletic but there's no need for this endless weight lifting, is there?

You seem to have led a rather sheltered live... 😂 Romantic relations between siblings are not that rare and aren't even limited to modern times... I remember a few years back a couple even went to court in Germany for the right to get married. Historically, just look a the troubled relationship between Lord Byron and his step-sister or to go further back, brother-sister mariages were a very common practice amongst the royals of the Ptolemean era. Generally speaking, there would be less of a taboo around the relationship of adopted siblings as the main reason for such a taboo lies in the genetic problems that the children of blood-related parents would face. Again, this is not modern knowledge, the ancients were very well aware of this.
the book about chang yi and lian song paperback book already released.... anyone know where to read the translation?
I'm searching for this as well. There is a website that started with the translation, but it has been stuck on chapter 2 eternally. I've tried running the original text through a translation tool, but some bits of it are really hard to understand...
On episode 3 and this is one of the most sauceless male leads
Really? I find him hilarious! Remember the character is written as someone who is completely detached from worldly desires and emotions, but he somehow keeps a wicked sense of humour. I've watched this series several times by now and the sweet-sour fish episode always has me in stitches.
Im still contemplating if I should watch this or not then its already two years. Is this related to TMOPB? Or…
It's a completely different story. Bai Qian and Ye Hua are mentioned regarding their family ties with the FL (Bai Feng Jiu - Bian Qian's niece) and BQ also has a guest appearance in one episode. Personally, I preferred this series to TMoPB. It's closer to the book, there is less focus on side-stories (which I found a bit boring in TMoPB) and the storyline feels somewhat rounder. Also, if you have watched TMoPB erase the DongHua-FengJiu storyline from your mind. Again, this is something that isn't in the original novel but I guess the writers for the series wanted a second couple so they made up a storyline.
Yes, I would not want to see this arc deleted, it was entertaining and served to show us that FL is inquisitive even if it gets her into trouble and that ML is prepared to literally tear down walls to save her. Also, that flying dagger was impressive! I think rather than deleting stuff the should have added an episode or two so that we get to see some more details that could support the story. For me, if I had to cut somewhere it would be the family interaction (expecially the hysterical granny) in the first few episodes. Her mother neglected her and the granny is greedy, it didn't need so many episodes of family drama to work that out.
Much as I admire Zhao Lusi of her dedication to portray 15/16 y/o girl, I hope she can put some weight please.…
Physical endurance and health is not a question of weight. The "plump" look isn't necessarily a sign of good health. There are plenty of skinny looking athletes or martial artists with a high level of fitness and endurance to prove my point. Could it be that most of this critisism of actresses/actors being to skinny comes from jealous people who have trouble keeping off the pounds??
I thought there was a lot of romance. It is very slow burn but it is literally titled Love Like the Galaxy and…
Actually, what drove the story forward was revenge plotting. The thirst for revenge even go in the way of love, so Revenge like the Galaxy would be a far more appropriate title 😂
On Episodes 42 and for the first time I actually feel bad 😢 for SS mother, after waiting so long to plan your…
Na, she reminds me too much of my mother for me to feel bad for her. Mistreating the child for 20 years and once you ignore her she goes: what have I done to deserve this?
thoughts on LLTG:All everybody seems to be talking about is how Zisheng knew she had abandonment issues but I…
True. I said before that consider the ML a psychopath, but his murderous aura (Leo Wu does a great job on this btw) did not fall from the sky, it's all rooted in his past.
Just for the romance part, how much does it worth to start this drama?
There's not much going on romance-wise until way into the 2nd half of part2. The ML is in love with the FL from the start, but she needs a lot of convincing. They bicker a lot more than gaze at each other lovingly. Given that they both have emotional/mental issues due to their past, this makes sense and leaves some room for real character development. It's all good stuff, but if you are looking for peach blossom romance you may get bored with it.
Finally done watching this drama omg this is now one of my best c dramaBut they really did emperor dirty by getting…
I fully agree regarding the emperor + his two wifes - they are among my favourite characters in this drama. It's such a refreshing change to see an emperor who is actually capable and clever, instead of being either a total fool or a cruel tyrant like in most other dramas.
I’m on ch 80 of the novel and I have yet to come across a character named Bai Xiao Sheng…..did I miss something…
Nah, there's no such character in the novel. They must have invented this character in the drama script... For those who are interested, you can read the novel translation here: https://www.novelupdates.com/series/heart-protection/
Also I can't even imagine how horrifying it is to watch the person you love fall off a cliff.....
I haven't seen this episode yet, but I just hope it's not the same cliff as in all the other C-dramas... I could swear they're using the same cliff every single time. It must be somewhere conveniently located near the studio...
I'm currently watching Blue Whisper. I'm not feeling the chemistry but so far the storyline is enough to keep…
I started it twice already, and somehow I'm not feeling it. I like both lead actors individually and I really want to like this drama, but given that I interrupted watching it twice to start something else does not really scream "compelling drama".
Well, compared to other dramas the romance is definitely lacking. I'm on ep. 37 now and so far it is still rather…
Haha, you're correct about My Sassy Princess. I watched it because I like ZYC, but to be honest, other than the fact that he looked good in that flaming red uniform I cannot remember much from it...
