Okay so I guess green flags are out and we are now entering the red flag era. Dang it, I feel like a horrible person for saying this but I can't hate Kelvin. He was a terrible character but Peat is just damn entrancing, I can't look away. THe pure aesthetic of this drama alone, I can't stop watching it . The MLs face card~I'm just~how can anyone have a right to be dang beautiful? Its not fair for the rest of the planet's population. They cast the perfect actors for this drama, I feel like if this has been portrayed by other BL pairing it woudn't have worked for me. Feel like this has been tailor made for fortpeat. I mean I wasn't exactly a fan of their coupling, I can't even get past the 1st episode of Love Sea, but boy oh boy with this one, they knocked it out of the park. I'm shocked to see another one who actually know how to act. Very very rare. Like extremely rare. I was actually pulled in by the trailer, took a gamble and glad I did. It was a time well spent.
Done!!! Wow! That was quite a ride. It took me a couple of episodes before I became really invested in the story but when I got started on episode 6- I knew I wasn't gonna sleep that night so thank heavens I saved this for the weekend. Prior to watching this though I've been monitoring the comments section here so I was dead set on hating Pin and the Dad, surprisingly though, I don't. I mean they have their moments but I don't wish for them to die like I expected to . I just wanna pull their hair a little and yell wake up!!!!
For Pin-I don't know how exactly people expect her to react? Should she just say oh yeah that's painful but you love each other so go forth and live happy lives? -uhm no!!! I think her reaction was very realistic. They hurt her so she hurt them back-plain and simple. Does that mean she's evil? Not really-it just makes her human, Sometimes when we're in pain, we lash out, we don't want to be alone in our misery so its normal to want those that cause you pain to be miserable, too. Is that right? Of course not, but I'm kinda confused as to why people vilified her so much for feeling the way she felt. She's entitled to her feelings-the betrayal came from the two people she loved the most. Her actions weren't right but do people always do the right thing? Maybe in lala land. lol
For the father- well this guy I don't condone his actions. He was despicable for all the things he did but I get why he was forgiven. I remember this dialogue in the drama "to the moon and back" When the ML was asking the FL's dad why he doesn't hate his father even though he hurt him. And the FL's father said sometimes we have to think of the reason behind someone's actions-if the reason is purely because of hate then yea the person doesn't deserve forgiveness but if the actions were because of love -concern-then maybe we can find a way to forgive-not the exact lines but same thought. The father was afraid for his son-he was afraid that because Sankaew is the way he is he will be hated and he will live a miserable life shunned by everyone-worse people might even hurt him-some gays do get beat up just for being gay-they get beat up even now during modern times what more during that period.? It was never really about the money for him-he just used that as an excuse to make sure his son walks what he thought is the "right path" His ways are wrong but he loves his son and his intention was always to protect him. I think that even Sankaew knows that, whuch is why insipite of how much he hated his father-he still loves him and in the end misses him which made him come back. in the end.
Anyway, thats just my opinion, many may beg to differ-which is perfectly fine-we can all have different opinions.
Now for the couplle- 0h boy, this couple-the moment they became lovers -they fought really hard to be together. There are times when I thought oh here's the moment- I smell noble idiocy coming - they surprise me and still held on to each other. I mean noble idiocy did happen eventually but-its different- in a good way. Even though they broke up -they were clear, the break up wasn't because they don't love each other, it still cut me like a knife but at the very least they remained true to how they felt. " I can't see you again but you're still the air that I breath, my reason for living." which is far cry better than" Lets break up becauseI don't love you anymore." which is a big fat lie.!!!! like why lie????
Anyway those are my thoughts for now-will probably edit this later. But this drama rocks!!

Just finished this. Binged it over the weekend . I see many are mad about the ending but I'm not, its a HE for the main couple, no one died and 2nd couple found each other eventually so its kinda implied that they would end up together-maybe? Meh don't really care that much. lol. I wasn't as invested in them as majority of the viewers. I tend to put my focus on the main because they are always the focal point of the story.
I loved this drama-and there's a big chance I'll be rewatching it because HY and SSH are just way tooo cute. HY is pure bred psycho and I'm loving every minute of it. His level of scheme and his acting chops are on a different scale-the way he switched his expressions from tame puppy to badass wolf is pure talent. I'd watch this drama again and again just for him. He's the only insane man that i love.
If you're contemplating whether to watch this or not-don't be too discouraged about what people are saying about the ending-its not like its a tragic end that'll shatter your heart. Everybody ended up happy anyway so for me its a WIN.

All right! I'm officially a. member of Fan Zhi Xin's fan club. This actor is sooooo underrated. Give some major production, big budget drama, stat!!!
I thought during the first episodes that his character is something similar to his character in the lethal man-which I don't really mind because that character is awesome but nooo-Guo Jing Yuan is different-after episode 3 he went from lethal to gpsh darn nice guy-so gentle , protective , soft spoken , incredibly kind, self sacrificing dreamboat-like just really really nice. If it was portrayed by a lesser actor- I'd be rolling my eyes, snoring or yawning but because he's now my bias I'm just swooning like a loon, melting in a puddle going-this lucky lucky girl. Now the FL-after episode 3 my opinion of her did a complete 360. I intially didn't like her-the audacity of this lady, mistrusting my baby boo boo-lol. I mean, I can see where she was coming from but seriously, look at that face-that's the face of an angel, man can do no wrong.( bias bias, I know) Anyway after episode 3 when she finally realized how stupid she is she actually became so adorable-like she's really really cute. She gave her full trust and that was it-she actually became a very sturdy wall that our ML can lean on so yes I forgive you lady-you've made up for your misgivings. She's very childlike most of the time, always wanting to just rely on the ML but when he needed someone-she's there. No questions asked. She protected him just as fiercely as he protected her.
This drama is actually an easy watch. Its entertaining and its the 2nd chinese modern drama I managed to finish. 1st being the Lethal Man of course. I just finished 3 modern dramas. This. Lethal man. And You Are My Glory-which I considered a terrible waste of time because Yang Yang can't act to save his life. Yes I said it. Can't believe that guy is getting some really good, big budget projects when Fan Zhi Xin is just keeping under the radar. World isn't fair sometimes.-but I still believe this guy will get his big break someday-he's still young afterall-just don't make me wait too long
Soo glad I decided to pick this back up. I've ditched it 2 yrs ago around episode 4 but now I'm able to finish it in just 3 days. Its really good. Iloved the pacing of the romance, I was afraid that it was going to be a slowburn given the. number of episodes but no-the time when romance picked up felt just just right. It wasn't too fast that its unbelievable but it wasn't too slow that its frustrating. Once again, Dylan Wang impresses-I really judged this actor before watching him-first I thought he was just a pretty face but on Love between the Fairy and a Devil and Rational life and now in this drama he kept on proving that his acting is even way better than his looks and thats a high praise given that his looks are top tier. The FL did a great job as well-but my standards for FLs honestly are quite low-just don't annoy me pretty please and on that note she did a good job. She's very rootable. Most dramas usually the woman barely deserves the guy-but this woman, she earned her place. She's very smart and don't even think of slapping her because she slaps right back-10 x stronger and I mean that literally and figuratively. Oh you're an emperor? I don't give a damn-here's a huge slap. Love her. She's a strong woman one minute and fluffy goofball the next. She's a ball of fun-specially when she's exchanging wits with the ML. They keep on trying to one up each toher until Mr. Hot and powerful Eunich fell hook line and sinker and decided its okay to keep losing. Its a win win anyway. Happy wife means happy life. But make no mistake about it he's only willing to lose to HER. To our villain-uhm no-these two are the true definition of a power couple. When they combine their two brilliant, scheming minds they are quite the force. Now speaking of villain-we have one here thats a total psycho. The downward spiral of the emperor-dang-now thats some impressive acting chops. You can see that something's not right with him since the begginning but as the story progresses and his lunacy begins to really show-you just want the guy to get his come uppance. Hated the character-impressed by the actor. He's not a cartoon villain-so awesome job. Story wise- when it gains its mojo you just can't stop watching it. So highly highly recomment
Alright, after marathoning all 9 episodes all day yesterday and today I'm all caught up w/ only a few hours to spare before the final ep w/c thank goodness, because if I wait more than that Imma go crazy.
Now don't even doubt it, this drama is really good. Like what others are saying the lead's chemistry -intense. Its the first time I watched a bl and felt like I'm third wheeling. Like am I even supposed to watch all these intimate moments between them? I feel as if I'm invading their privacy. That's how real these two portrayed their characters. Their feelings-felt so true, like its not just acting and man, is that rare nowadays. Hope all the BL actors pay attention -this is acting!!!!! Now its not without criticism-some scenes I feel like Pond overacts? Maybe its just me? But I can overlook that because in most of his scenes he just knocks it out of the park. His expressions are so nuanced-his eyes alone can tell hundreds of emotions at one shot. I already knew he can act after watching 180 degrees longtitude- this drama just proved it even more. And dang this guy's is beautiful-you jst can't take your eyes off of him-except when he was wearing that ridiculous wig at the begginning lol.
Now Peterpan-this guy's a real surprise, I've never seen him in a drama before so I thought-hoo boy newbie-wrong! I see this was his first lead role so guy has something to prove and prove it he did! Thada-was the calm to Armin's chaos. This guy's acting was subtle but it packs a punch. He is so magnetic. At first I thought -he's goodlooking. But the more I look at him the better looking he gets, his appeal-magnetic because he backed it up w/ talent.
So to put it simply -these two restored my faith that there are still some bl actors out here who know how to act and not just all about the cute! This couple are more emotions-than cute. They knew the assignment and they made it happen.
But speaking of cute-Veynai-ah geeze you mother effing scene stealer-its hard to steal the leads' thunder but somehow- this guy managed. Can't believe someone that good looking can deliver lol moments. When I win the lottery-can I have him as my secretary-he's the best. PS: Make him and Janine happen pretty please Mr. Writer.
Now for all the good in this drama-got one criticism-Thiwthit! I know villains are supposed to make our blood boil-their purpose is to annoy the viewers but this guy-I'm more annoyed by the actor than the character. Come to think of it his character is actually okay-Thiwthit has some stunts that actually manage to challenge Thada and its not always an easy win for our lead. But the way he is portrayed-sorry dude, pure cringe take some acting lessons go back to basics. I haven't fastforwarded a scene quicker than when he grazes the screen. Oh well-no drama can be perfect-there's always a weak link and that's him. I can't take him seriously when he's just stomping around with that lame expression that he perceives as menacing -acting coach PLEASE-don't just pay attention to the leads-spare some of your time w/ the villains as well-they're also important.
