I am watching episode 1 and the soundrack so far is just amazing. I love the singing parts too, thanks to this drama I will discover more korean songs from the 90s. Black Cat Nero has already earned a spot in my playlist
The plot twist on Episode 8 was better than the one on episode 6 and it actually provided some important context. Kudos to the writers for doing one thing right.
You cannot pull out such a random plot twist and expect me to care when you haven't done anything to flesh out the characters and their dynamics. This plot twist was surely shocking but I still feel nothing because I never connected with the characters and their relationships. At least the story has become more interesting.
I don't know how to properly explain it but in every episode, it feels like there are so many things going on and nothing happening at the same time. The pacing is very messy for such a short kdrama and the characters are not fleshed out to support this type of story. For now, my rating is between the 6-6.5 range, I doubt the last two episodes will change that.
I will officially remove this from my watchlist. I have no intention to watch a series in which the writer doesn't know how to handle the female characters and their friendship. What I've seen and read from comments and posts online is enough. If you want to watch an actually good kdrama about a broken female friendship and with complex female characters that are not reduced to their love towards a man, You and Everything Else is right there.
