Having watched the first four episodes, I think that the problem with this drama is that even though the story is interesting, the pacing feels off at times and characterisation is lackluster. It's an interesting revenge story and the concept of deepfake and technology as manipulation tools is relevant but so far, the story is not remarkable. I will finish it though, I'm curious to see how it'll wrap up.
The lesbian couple won the best couple award in Korean Drama Awards? Against the couples from When The Phone Rings, Good Boy, Love Next Door, Love Scout, Head Over Heels, Love Your Enemy, Our Unwritten Seoul and Dear Hongrang? Iconic behavior
Finished watching episode 1 and it was okay. Not great but not bad either. The story seems intriguing, I like this type of revenge driven scripts and I'm curious to see which side will conquer. I must say that so far I like the villain's acting, it's the type of deranged villain I enjoy, lol.
I'm lowkey excited! Hopefully the script will deliver, the plot is so interesting and the interview I read from the writer made me even more eager to watch this
What I appreciate in this drama is how it doesn't try to normalise drugs or glorify them but at the same time, it doesn't demonize drug addicts nor people who get involved in this "business". Unfortunately, in our society, many people will go to great lengths in order to gain money and help their families or themselves. Circumstances shape our actions and they often dictate how we'll act. Eun Soo found herself in a desperate position and she's doing everything she can. Dong Hyun also wanted to seek a better future for his brother, he never enjoyed the life he had under Phantom and he even wanted to change for the best by looking for a normal job. Even James is not portrayed as a villain but a morally grey person.
The police officer has said it the best: criminals should be arrested but there are times when people commit crimes due to desperation. The series really questions our morality, we don't condemn Eun Soo and Gyeong's action but we can still sympathize with them.
Another great and intense episode, seems like the second half will be even more exciting than the first one. There are so many twists and theories forming, I have such a great time trying to guess how this mess will end. I like how Gyeong warms up to Eun Soo more and the story focused more on the police subplot. Something is definitely fishy with that one detective, I think that he must be involved with Phantom. Eun Soo's friend is suspicious too. Cannot wait for next week's episodes.
Another thing I love about this drama is they didn't make Eunsoo a damsel in distress. She's a quick thinker and…
Even if she acts like a damsel in dstress, it's perfectly logical. She was a regular civilian who possessed drugs and who wants to save her family. Of course she would be scared and anxious at first, it's a very realistic behavior.
Love your profile picture too!
