I watched eight episodes and witnessed the angst go down on Twitter, and this is something that really bothers me and keeps me from pressing play on it again even if I loved what I saw. I really dislike it when the relationship is unbalanced and the ending doesn't put things to right. I know it's life, but it's just so unfair.

So, YT just released episode 20, the end of which really looks like the end of the series, so I'm confused since MDL says 24 episodes. Do you guys know what's going on?

Yes, and he had the Jiang disciples who adored him, actual friends, and a good position, since he was head disciple. TTJ had to teach himself everything by observing Xiao Lin and was treated worse than a dog. Worse, he tried so hard to blend in and be liked, only to be abused and betrayed by everyone. Who wouldn't go mad living like this?

Then again, he's known no love or care whatsoever ever since he was born. Every single person who pretended to care for him had ulterior motives. Combine that with his inability to feel emotions, and you can hardly get a sane person or even someone capable of kindness. It's pretty admirable he was able to hold it together this long.

It does flow pretty well, it's just odd how little screentime HJJ has in the first half as the male lead. What I don't understand, if it's as you say, is why they'd cut it in half when the 40 episodes are already within regulations...

So did they cut 20 episodes worth of content (HJJ's scenes?), or do they have a second season ready to air on a shelf somewhere? What do you think?

This was filmed in 2020, if I'm not mistaken, so I really doubt there'll be a season 2... I'm glad I saw this in advance, though, so I'm prepared since I'm already at episode 17. I despise cliffhanger endings, too.

They do? That's great! Wasn't this filmed a few years ago, though? If so, that doesn't bode well for a second season, and Huang Jun Jie will probably be recast... So many issues with this show.

Oh, that's good to know, thank you! Because I'm at episode 10 as well, and she's barely interacted with him (he's barely showed up, tbh), so it's hard to believe he's the ML and they're going to build a love story in 10 episodes...

I keep seeing emaciated horses in dramas, it's really awful. Don't they feed them? Seriously.

I love them so much, they're hilarious. (They do bicker like an old married couple, don't they!)
