Absolutely worth watching, and I usually dislike modern romances. This is very well-written, with well developed characters, beautiful directing, excellent firefighting scenes, touching bromance, great chemistry between the leads and realistic growth. I don't recommend skipping anything either (and again, this comes from me, a serial fast-forwarder).

I doubt she'll disappear anytime soon, she's kinda the main obstacle to our leads' love...

Agreed. Episode 1 was very bad already but we know to give it a bit of time because sometimes it doesn't mean anything, but this is very, very bad. No way they can suddenly turn this into a masterpiece.

Agreed. Modern romances usually aren't my thing at all, but I felt like I could spend fifteen minutes talking about our leads' personality and issues after watching five episodes, and that's what makes this show so special to me. It's been so long since a piece of media has been written cleverly enough that it would let me analyze things and draw my own conclusions instead of telling me right off the bat.

True, I forgot about that. The parents saving them in the last fight is another thing that's completely nonsensical imo: like, they're rulers, don't they have an army to send out? how come the kid managed to sneak out?

I don't think being a disciple of an Elder justifies you sneaking into a super secret chamber with dangerous artefacts with a thief disguise... Any other drama would have had the both of them severely punished.

Honestly, 80% of the characters in this show are insanely stupid. The sheer amount of manufacted conflict that could have been avoided if they all behaved like actual people with working brains would have reduced this show to 12 episodes tops XD

Yes, exactly. This drama doesn't deserve a high rating imo, and I'm definitely not an anti, even if I'm not a fan. It's just badly written, badly produced, badly acted,... I'm still enjoying it somehow, but no objective person would give this a good review.

The way Lion Guy died without giving the information omg Stupidity at its finest.

Because nothing makes any sense, the production values are awful, the dialogues are badly written, most of the characters are stupid, and the acting is mediocre at best. Good fight choreographies, though, and Xu Kai clearly put a lot of work into his spearwork. I'm still enjoying it, tbh, although I really have no idea why. (I'm at episode 26.)

Ah, thank you for the explanation regarding the Legend, I'd actually written that down for my review... I just finished it and reading your comment helped me understand why I feel like something is missing but I can't put my finger on it: it's simply because I haven't read the webtoon. I will, though, I like everything you've just mentioned.
