Nah, I think a lot of people are in your camp. I think there’s a reason Chi Wen (TJR version) has a lot of burden. He’s carrying the Dragon Deity mantle, and he clearly knows more than he’s letting on.
I just hope GJM makes it a satisfying reason, for Chi Wen action and coldness.

This was my take away from Jie Lie story in episode 15.
In Li Jie's story, we learn that Ji Ling is basically Yuan Xizai. The flashback was from his brother's perspective, so he was begging someone to heal him. This could be the reason why Li Jie was created, and this was the price he paid.
(My theory, the person he begged to save Yuan Xizai, could have been the dragon deity Chi Wen, as we know dragon deity power could bring someone back to life. This might be where they struck a deal and why Yuan Xizai became Ji Ling/LS)
As for Old Yuan Wu Huo, maybe he couldnt bare knowing what the real chi wen had planned for his brother. Cause we know in the trailer Ji Ling/LS die, as with the prophecy, could the real chi wen using Ji Ling/LS as a scapegoat ? and old Yuan Wu Huo is saddened by this and trying to change it.
Your point is correct with WWY, it reflect what WSG master in episode 14 when she was going to kill him. He told her about her guilt, even though she know she not responsible for it, the guilt still shackle her heart.
