Episode 15 answers many of the questions we have so far.
In Li Jie's story, we learn that Ji Ling is basically Yuan Xizai. The flashback was from his brother's perspective, so he was begging someone to heal him. This could be the reason why Li Jie was created, and this was the price he paid.
(My theory, the person he begged to save Yuan Xizai, could have been the dragon deity Chi Wen, as we know dragon deity power could bring someone back to life. This might be where they struck a deal and why Yuan Xizai became Ji Ling/LS)
Also, it's the first time a character confirms Ji Ling/LS is a false dragon deity.
Also, it is interesting how the butterfly told Li Jie, " You look like me and not the other way around.
In the WSG and WWY Story, the moment we had been waiting for finally arrived, and it was revealed that WWY was involved in the flood dragon massacre; she was indeed under Jiu Ying's influence.
But we also learn an important detail: Jiu Ying is in their weakened state, with his 9 heads sealed, but they were able to split it into 81 fragments and can possess both human and demon.
Also, the first time we got a confirmation that WSG's birthmark is indeed of the dragon clan.
In Di Zhu and Man Man's story, we learn about Jiu Ying's origin story: how they feeds on the star stone but finds a better source of human fear.
Ji Ling/LS also state they learn Jiu Ying, weakeness and that it the same as his.

I’ve seen this theory before, and it sounds fine. But my only issue is… there has to be a better reason than Chi Wen being trapped just because he’s the ninth son and the last one left to eat a head.

As to why it transforms into 3 heads, Jiu Ying is 九嬰, or known as "the nine-headed baby". It's a snake-like monster with 9 heads, apparently it cries sounds like a baby's wailing, which is why it's named the nine-headed baby.
What's fuzzy is whether this is Jiu Ying's origin story or when he is recovering after the battle with the 9 sons of the dragon deity.

It's so silly that the 9 dragons just forgot that for this to work, we need another dragon to kill Chi Wen.
So that's why they need the 10th dragon, right?

It kind of tamed, though. A lot of people are just loving the chemistry, or they’re genuinely confused about what’s going on with the plot.
The ice magic is for sure from xiao wei, and that why he looking like a fox.
But sure, he could just look like it since he is using magic from it.
