I never watched or knew about the original, and it doesn't seem like a good idea to watch this as a stand-alone. That being said, I did watch the first 5 episodes.
There are so many emotional moments that if you don't know about what happened, it just really doesn't hit you in any way.
As someone who never watched or knew about Princess Agents, watching this as a stand-alone is probably not recommended, which is already not a good sign for a drama.
They try to aid you with flashback and whatnot, but the connection is just not there

Could be, but they never explain what the petal means, until WSG Master explains it to him. We literally watch 16 episodes, and just when cool, they are Double Petal Demon Hunter 🤣
