In a sense VoS is actually faster then FoF... as for FoF they continue 2 more "case" afterward each case you learn something but it was largely a side plot

Those case does help build the world and further the plot as well

yeah I figure, again it no different then FoF. they spend the first 5 episode solving the drowning bride case... Where VoS does different is xiaowei have a bigger implication in the overall plot then the fish demon did.

Just curious what episode are you on ? because FoF first few episode didnt actually contribute much to the main plot, it mostly set up the world and build up the characters.
