This is the result of great writing, talented directing and having the perfect cast. Everything about ep 13 was right on point. Just the right portion of sweet and bitter . I smiled throughout the first part and cried throughout the second part. All the right emphasis, all the words, all the emotions were so painfully real. Even the conversation between Eiw and his mom…and having Cake by his side through it all…even the scene with Cream in the hospital corridor. Just the right words at the right moment. The cinematography and tone was so heartwarming….and the two mothers, lifelong friends crying together was right on point. Sorry for my ranting guys but this episode was so personal. Like Eiw’s mom my mom also kept the seriousness of her condition a secret. Like Eiw’s mom my mom always worried if I would be ok. Like Eiw’s mom I still remember the last conversation we had. Like Eiw’s mom my mom had a best friend who was there with me until the very end. I applaud those involved in this episode for the diligence in getting it right. One more episode left. I can hardly wait. We need a happy ending for these two.

I can see that. I grew up in a very conservative environment. There was a man who lived down the street. One day he was walking by and I heard my parents talking. The word they used was gay. No one ever spoke to him and neither did he speak. There seemed to be some sort of secret agreement between everyone on the block. That was over 60 years ago.
Lol..I’m so sorry but this is becoming a comedy of errors…how many clues do you need before you figure out Tian is a homosexual… lol…is everyone as dumb as they seem….this is one great soap opera… I really don’t need the subtitles to figure out what’s happening…I just get a kick out of reading the subtitles and confirming I was right. Love the actors playing Tian and Jiu.

I understand where you are coming from but 28 episodes would be torture for me given the toxicity of this family. The only way I would even consider watching would be if the two evil mothers and their minions were consumed in a blaze of fire. But since this is a soap opera and they have major billing that’s hardly unlikely. The writers provide just enough tease with Tian and Jiu to keep us coming back. Plus it’s taking over two weeks for subtitles. Young Royals Season 3 just came out on Netflix and I’ve already binge watched it twice, I do applaud those of you who have the fortitude and desire to hang in there for 28 episodes.

This is one hell of a toxic, dysfunctional family with the two sons as pawns, If the previews are correct the next trick was to drug Tian and the fake fiancée so they could be found in a compromising position and forced to marry, Nothing creative or groundbreaking about that. It’s been done before but it’s entertaining. So don’t knock me if I’m about ready to indulge myself in a little sexual healing. Time to rewatch Tharntype. I’ll be back for ep 11. I think that’s when the father admits what he knew about Tian in the first place and shows how homophobic he really is and we see who can slap Tian the hardest, his loving mother or his virtuous father.

I agree. Frankly, I had never heard the term shipping until I started watching BLs.That’s why I really love it when I see bl actors taking on roles where they are in heterosexual relationships. As you said they are actors and playing a role is their job. What they do on their own time should not be dictated by the desire to make money or please fans.

The entire family is toxic except for the brothers. Yang is next on the chopping block. Wait until Jan gets wind of this. At this point none of the men in that house are safe, Li and her maid are evil vindictive snakes. Note how even the music reflects the feelings of evil or good. I’ll be glad when this is over,

I agree. This the worst storyline. I see nothing even remotely attractive about this character. I think she was in an earlier series with Tay and she was a real bitch in that one too.

Right now I just want Name to be happy. He is so isolated and it seems like things are going to get worse for him. And the one who is homesick. I can really relate.
This series really reminds me of my college days. In a word relationships were all over the ….one night stands. tears, breakups physical confrontations, drama, drama, drama…..messy. messy , messy…. group. So yes the hormones are popping and we see people being treated like horse manure. This is reality for some. Fortunately we are more than half way through so we will be put out of our misery soon.

This is one reason I really don’t base my decision to watch or not to watch on my drama list ratings. I am actually enjoying it, The bodyguards are so darn cute and hilarious. They really are meant for each other. The storyline is all over the place but I have seen worse. The mls are keeping me here. Hopefully we get a happy ending.
