I don't know anything about his acting skills but as a singer he is just exceptional, Love him so much. One of my fave Asian singers <3

I'm not the biggest fan of the "Three Kingdoms' " Ost (songs and instrumentales), but I have to admit that it was well appropriate for war/tragic scenes! So yes for this drama the pieces of music were just perfect and made the scenes even more memorable ;D

Big spoiler about the ending
So for Rong Ge, I hated that the writer(s)? at the end decided to change his personality, he was so funny, kind and adorable with Huang Que and just because of this quest for treasure they decided that finally he was a bad guy and manipulated all of them just to get back the gold! Unbelievable! They ruined almost everything ! That was already enough with Tian Hong who turned bad to take the treasure as if he could really make a better world and create a Shanghai without Mafioso! ><

And the real big joke is that Su Ying Ying was supposed to be over 40, what, they really want us to believe that?! This kind of mistake is unforgivable!

I said it was underrated cause the movie is so unknown to the world and I think that's such a pity (I waited a long time before watching it, well mainly because on streaming the quality was bad, probably the reason why people did not get to watch it) but I agree with you when you say it's more overlooked than underrated.
Ahah, I was also curious like you since there weren't many people who watched it and they all gave good score, I sincerely hope you'll enjoy King of Masks and can't wait to hear your thoughts on it ;D

Gong Li is absolutely ravishing in this movie, well as always (;
Honestly I did not expect to fall in love with this movie, but I have to admit that it was such an easy watch, the part in the countryside was so refreshing, Gong Li singing peacefully with Ajiao and Shuisheng was my fave part, definitely <3

I literally loved that scene when Qian Gu said to Zi Hua ""What is righteous and what is evil? I might have the great desolate energy force but I've never harmed anyone! but there are some people under the name of righteousness who will kill anyone on a whim! who gave them that power?" finally she said out loud what others dare to think. Well kind of!

Honestly I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and I think this drama does not look good (in my opinion of course), if I were to watch it that would be solely for Zanilia's sake !

I loved absolutely everything from the story to the setting (actually the movie is set in the China of the 1920's but that is something obvious, just look at the atmosphere and costumes ). And yes I have to admit that I fell in love with TKoM, especially with the story which is told in a simple and reaslistic way, and of course the characters I love them all ( The King, little Gou Wa, TianCi and the opera actor Liang Su Lan). This is about a street perfomer whose speciality is to practice the change-mask opera but unfortunately he does not have a descendant to pass down the secrets of his Art and so he decides to buy a little boy (since this is an art that can only be passed down to a boy) in an illegal child market and that's how he meets ''Gou Wa'' at first he treats the kid with the atmost care, doing everything for him and thinking of him as his heir but of course when he discovered the brutal truth he went extremely mad but still he pitied the little Gou Wa, and honestly this girl was such a revelation for me, she's not bound by blood with her master whom she considers like her Yeye (grandpa) and yet she loves him unconditionally and never asks something in return, the only thing she wants from him is his love and being treated like a little girl nothing more ! Plus all the things she was willing to do only for his sake was so touching, she even managed to make me cry (just a little bit but still I had tears in eyes as she was simply brillant in her role) we can only admire this girl for her courage!

And last but not least I have to say few words about the Opera Actor who did a superb job here, he was both endearing and adorable, he was so sincere towards the king and the little girl, and of course Tian Ci (heaven-sent hehe), so cute oh my I wanted to pinch his cheeks seriously <3

Why is this movie so underrated?! ô.O

Honestly this is not some awesome drama but It's very refreshing to see Wallace playing such a cool and funny character and my dearest Qian Xiang is actually the funniest here, love his Xiao Shan's portrayal <333

Oh and Short hair is what suits Huo wallace the most seriously <3
