What you said is true up to some extent, screenplay writing of this drama is terrible and I am not defending that but again its K-drama industry fault and their obsession with keeping maximum episode limit at 20.
I can only speak for myself; but I don't mind complicated plots, I actually prefer them IF they're done well.…
It's the queen, who is the member of song family doing all this shit by using the right state minister and the grand prince An is also not the king's son, he is song family bastard. Which she is trying to install on the throne by killing off the Royal family!
I believe K-drama fans can't don't like complicated plots cuz majority of K-drama's have simple and straight forward stories. I am actually enjoying this drama, but majority of people hate it for some reason. Guys I am not trying to change your viewpoint, but these 20 episodes are supposed to cover the whole novel, which actually need full 40 episodes tv series.
