Lol it usually never happens because army chain of command is very flexible with built in reduncies; there is always 3 backups ready in any case. If commander dies, his assistant commander will immediately take over, and if he dies unit commander or captain will take over and if he dies high ranking officer will take over. Everybody including common foot soldiers know this rule......but the way ML army evaporated 30,000 troops even 18th century muskets are not going to cut it due to their long reload.
ML army was armed with Ak47´s and were simply mowing people down with full auto fire......they will show us guns in next episode. I like General Wu, he got hit onetime by enemy general and call it quits. He understood nigga is crazy and turned into spectator, while FL was struggling with her life.

I am glad Chinese battle scenes have evolved, tho it's still not accurate, like in real life mass of soldiers fighting never happened. The armies were extremely disciplined, and they would always fight in formation with polearms not swords, and we have numerous paintings of ancient armies of every culture fighting in formations to support this argument.
But it was still ¨far better¨ as compared to other shows, armour mechanics finally worked here like when FL tried to attack his Plate armour with her knife, it bounced off and subsequently bended. She then modified her attack plan and went after his exposed neck, but when that failed. She used proper weapon ¨his Blunt Polearm¨ to attack. Which caved the armour in......its very realistic and that´s why Polearms were weapon of choice of ancient armies because unlike swords (which are primarily slashing weapons), they can thrust and were strong enough to penetrate leather and some plate armour. It's one the reason you have seen ancient knight and Cataphracts armed with Polearms/spears because it can punch through armour. Cavalry and armies armed with swords as primary weapon is entertainment industry creation....actual armies used polearms and proper formations.
Furthermore, I like how the enemy used trebuchet with fireballs to attack ML camp, although the real cotton balls didn´t explode like shown in the drama but at least they have shown the weapon in use. Also, the use of Shock cavalry against poorly organized soldiers was also on point, but again formations were wrong. ML defending army was supposed to be anti-cavalry spear-wall formation with their long spears back in ground and pointy end forward to brace and absorb impact of charge. Enemy Calvary was supposed to be in wedge formation to present strong point of impact and expand the hole as they went in.
¨But still far better than old dramas¨
Lol in real life ML was done for and he had lost the battle for sure because enemy had artillery (Trebuchet) and they will simply sit back and pound ML position day and night and burn the whole camp to ground but of course ML will win here. The funny thing ML displayed zero tactical brilliance like digging proper trenches, use of caltrops and other common measures like archers on the wall. But he still won, while enemy was using better techniques and still lost with 30,000 troops.

Lol and I am saying their ¨Trauma¨ is not same because although both suffered from mental trauma, Qi Min also bared extreme physical trauma, which according to medical and biological science can definitely alter someone's thinking process and mind.
You can´t compare the suffering of disabled person with PTSD to simple PTSD, it's like saying suffering of veteran with amputated leg is comparable to suffering of simple vet with PTSD. In either case it was nice talking to someone, who actually presented his point and talked respectfully.

"Qi Min" is not righteous by any stretch of imagination. In first half of drama he bought 200,000 tons of grain from war strucken area...... to aid the spread of famine and mass starvation. After that he massacred entire village and then use that pain to fuel resentment among starving farmers..... leading to attack on city and death of hundreds of poor people. He is genocidal maniac who planned the whole shambang and then used his dumb brother as punching bag.
So Nope both characters can't be compared.... although male lead brother and Qi Min can be compared to each other..... albeit Su demon is a better commander and tactician than ML step brother.

I don't think Su demon was like mad dog this time....he did everything right. Like proper use of scouts to explore the area and spies to gather information about enemy army size and supplies, not only that he also kidnapped enemy general daughter to use emotional blackmail.
ML on the other hand did nothing special, he drowned half of his army and innocent workers (they didn't about impending death and did it willingly) to gain upper hand and even than, he won thanks to plot armor. I have seen a lot of political dramas and played a lot of RTS games....he used zero strategy and only won thanks to plot armour and stupid mechanics.

For example, I forgot the name of C-drama but it was based on life of Sima Yan and Zhang lige in three kingdoms period. Both characters showed actual strategic brilliance and ML lost many rounds to enemy general there, simply because he was better tactician.

Well it didn't come off like that and no ML and Qin Min experiences are not same. The only common denominator between them was, they are both orphans.
1) ML parents were righteous and doesn't deserve the murder, we can't say that for Qi Min parents (at this point).
2) ML childhood was hard because he was living in enemy territory and his foster parents knew he is enemy's son and treated him accordingly, Qin Min foster parents doesn't know his real ancestry and he raised him like their own son.....his treatment was far better and Prince spent crazy amount to restore his face.
3) ML step brother Wei Yuan (whatever his name is) hates him and is actively trying to assassinate him.....Qi Min step brother actually loves him because in his mind, he is his brother....in essence he doesn't have to deal with factions within his home and live in constant fear of backstabbing by his step family.
4)ML earned his way to become Marquis......while Qi Min was catapulted into this role.
5)Qi Min not only have to deal with his mother death.....but he was also severely burned and disfigured, amplifying his physical pain and suffering tenfolds. ML doesn't have to deal with that.
6)No Qi Min is not playing it smart, you can hide and cowar all day long....but in the end, he is a military general. Who have to fight and his brother is far superior to him in this regard. He had sound strategy and used the scouts and spies to explore the area and gather information before moving in. He did everything right and tried everything to gain upper hand on enemy general. ML survived thanks to plot armor and some stupid mechanics.......like SVL reinforcement chasing Ml did hear any sound of whole dam bursting and gashing water. Water wasn't even that deep to drown everybody.....it was knee deep at best and 90% of the people could have swim ashore as ML lacked archers to shoot them down.

So in essence both character may appear similar to untrained eye but they are vastly different and can't be compared on any level.

I just don't like how they have played an emotional angle here, yes backstory is important for characters. But it wasn't important for Qimin because he is not grey character dude is pure dark character and I was liking him for it. Now in a sense they have castrated him.....his brother deserves main villain tile now.

I don´t like the Qi Man sob story in today's episode, let's say fate was cruel to him but SFL saved his life and how heck did he paid her back for it......by trying to possess her and take her free will away. Like dude I know you were born in ¨F@cked¨ by family but this is not the way to love someone, and I don´t know why drama is going in this direction but a SFL son as emperor with ML as reagent is not going to suffice in this universe. We have stacked deck of treacherous officials each vying for control and push their own agenda forward. I hope first thing ML does after getting control of the empire is reform the imperial examination system and make it impartial, this will make it difficult for sons of these powerful families to get in office. Secondly, he should give bastards right to inherit the family property...... this will start the infighting among the nobles and division of property among each generation will diminish these families power.

Will there one or two episodes tomorrow?

The last four episodes were very important for the plot, but I still believe they will rush the ending. We are about to enter FL learns about ML identity and was pissed at him plotline.....but I hope they cut it down to 2 episodes at max and by 30. ML should enter wolves den a.k.a Capital.

Also, the very complicated story and political struggle with multiple parties fighting eachother for their own benefits.

A true balancer.....his behavior sense considering the world he was born into.

I like how Sui Yuanqing is unapologetically shameful, it's been a long time we have a PURE DARK character in C-drama and I really like how they didn´t gave us some ¨Sob Story of childhood trauma¨ to justify his actions. He is a piece of shit, like it or hate it !

First of all, we don´t the history and I have not read the novel to know the actual reason why FL runway first place. That being said, he is sadist and unfortunately some people don´t deserve to have their head attached to their bodies. In stone age evolution used to take care of mutants like them but unfortunately, these monsters are protected by their powerful family.
In their childhood if someone had smacked them for making mistakes, they wouldn´t have turned out like this but unfortunately their daddy was too busy playing the rebel and raised trash. I don´t believe FL would have stayed with him if he has shown kindness to her ¨after all that¨ and rightfully soo. I just hope ML doesn´t turned out like them.....he did force a kiss on FL after her clear refusal.
But I like it..................after a long time, we have pure DARK characters.

Those Sui brothers really deserve to die.... both are sadist in their own way. Qi Ming likes to torture his wife and kid but younger one is the worst, he enjoys genocides and massacres. I hope their punishment dismemberment at minimum!
