She deserved death penalty cuz she was in on "Kill FL plot" and then tried to kill Xiaosheng, the punishment for attempt at princess, and then maid life is death penalty. ML caught her red handed, so catching feelings is okay but attempts at people lives is not.

She shouldn't have picked a side in ep3 by knocking over ML and letting that guy to escape. That's like invitation to ML to hurt her even more !

I know he wants to kill ML but difference between the two is, ML will look at the border picture and took the honourable way, while he is a coward who can only hide behind people, target married woman, try to assassinate people and do all kind of shit.
The point I am trying to make here, people were at my throat for saying SML is a bad dude but now he has shown his true colors and I hope FL realises, who stupid of her it was defend him with her life.
I hope she don't stop ML from killing him again!

I will say something controversial here,
Allen kinda missed the mark in this portrayal of grey character and made it darker, we didn't see hesitance and struggle with righteousness in his portrayal and I know its nit-picking, but its Allen Ren and I expect him to be at his "A" game 24/7.
His acting is good don't get me wrong here but it's not Allen Ren lvl good, dude could have used flick of his eyes to portray the emotion. I see layers within his character, but I don't see useful LAYERS!

He as room for improvement and just cuz I like someone (allen ren) doesn't mean I am going to agree with everything they have done. He lacks charisma and that's why people are hating him !
Luo Yun Xi also has room for improvement in some areas (his attitude being one of them).

That's why although I understand ML point of view, he is still the criminal in that situation and if we have to award someone. ML should be receiving asshole award, as for romance I don't think it should even exist in this drama!

I haven't watched the latest episodes yet but he has always been like this, he has tried to kill ML multiple times and forced FL against her will by abducting her, forcing her to learn qin, taking advantage of her kindness by using scenarios and create scenarios in which ML will turn on her, donating his skin and forcing FL to owe him and save FL in ship, so that ML won't kill his sister.
Y'all were blind to begin with and he even lives now cuz ML grandfather saved his life and he paid him back by trying to kill his nephew !
