Lol, ML didn't had reasons for his behaviour, they were FACTS. FL did try her best to betray him and searched for deployment everywhere including his study, pigeon shed and everywhere else. ML had people following her around and hence he knew. Then told her, Pigeons are not the only way by which imperial guards receive information. She is suspicious Shen is in cohorts with the Mo guy considering their shared history, and that's why she gave separate hidden decree to the FL to report on ML actions during the investigation and I don't blame the Empress Dowager for doing it.
ML is indeed very close to the Mo Guy and ML is Emperor right hand person responsible for her and young emperor security. She is ruling a kingdom here, so she has to be 100% sure but only thing I didn't agree with is. She shouldn't have used FL for it, I am pretty sure something stupid will happen and FL will send incriminating evidence against ML to empress (she may not even send it herself, that Anpu guy is involving himself into leads business and he may send stuff for her).

Your entire argument would have made sense if they were in "getting to know eachother phase" of the relationship, not in committed relationship, let alone marriage. Again their lives are connected now and if anything happens to FL during the course of relationship like death, ML live will be greatly impacted. When FL goes around and make mess, she makes/creates HUGE PROBLEM for ML and some are big enough to get him killed with crime of deceiving the empress dowager.

Your last argument doesn't even make any sense, yes sacrifices doesn't mean you have to be with that person but accepting sacrifices 24/7 also means, you giving that party false hope and exploiting/ using them for your own benefit.
I am Doc (surgeon) and save multiple lives daily, does that mean all those owe me and they have to date me. No there is no courting going on between us and we are not married but FL is married to ML, is creating problems that impact them both and he has no choice but to save him (people already blame him for selling out his own father). So, yes in this case FL owes him and should pay back by being grateful and not insulting him time to time. No body cares about her romance and I will be happy if ML dates Xu chick (empress dowager maid) after their divorce.
