The production is trying to create unnecessary angst cuz unfortunately if its linear plot, people tend to call it boring but there should be fine balance between "angst and romance" to make it pleasing to viewers.

I think her biggest failure is her inability to set boundaries with her Ex and she fails to consider other party feeling (she doesn't consider ML feelings at all).
On the top of that, it's her escapist attitude, whenever problem appears in their relationship, she either runs to her parent house or try to brush it under the rug.
Problems are normal part of relationship and are meant to be solved, calling it quits on work matter is also very amateur and she is supposed to have eight years of experience under her belt.
She is not a bad person but I believe day ML stops trying (putting all the work in), their relationship will be over in matter of hours.

Yep but we are talking about two 27 year old mature people and FL has eight years of relationship experience under her belt and yet she is behaving like 16 year old teen in secret relationship.

This whole ordeal happen in period of just two episodes and you can watch episodes 8 and 9, make your own decisions!

I am also talking about passionate intimacy scenes and they are quiet famous for cutting 20 episodes worth of drama from main plot, so who knows and I didn't know you can self release a drama in china

Its good so far but has potential to be "Great" and you are getting something out of it, we are still waiting for Jing Tian to show her charms!

She can do romance and was amazing in "admist the snowstorm", she like majority of her peers (her gen) is a method actor and try to capture the essence of the character and give realistic responses, which she thinks a character would have given.
Now this approach is contradictory to "idol dramas" with cliches, which majority of chinese directors like to make. Hence she tends to stay away from stupid shit !
This phenomenon was also present in "Blossom in adversity" where Jing Yi was behaving according to her age, reckless and adventurous nature. Now her actions were overall bad but, in her mind, she was right!

Nahh ZLH can be considered top dog and equivalent to people like Yang Yang, Zhang Jing Yi breakthrough came with "Lighter & Princess" and it kinda went downhill after that, but she regained her following with "Blossom in adversity".
I am gona say something controversial, but YM is not that great of an actress, she is glamorous but no way near her peers like NiNi. I consider ZLH a great upcoming actor, who can trade blows with majority of actors in their 30's but below Liu Xueyi, Jeremy tusi, Luo Yun Xi and Allen Ren.

That fox has betrayed "FL and ML" multiple times and almost got ML captured and FL killed, so I hope someone either skins him or ML places death curse on him. Which could be triggered at any attempt to remove her pearl, including herself !
Funny thing is moment he removes the pearl, her internal 7 sins demon will be triggered and he unlike ML has no righteous morals, and he will kill him on snap of finger. His entire tribe was imprisoned for a reason and if even he somehow manages to free them.
They will be extremely weak and resentful/evil to their righteous sect, unlike the previous grand master who valued their life and just imprisoned them. The current righteous sects with their full might will simply murder them all and commit genocide of his entire race !

I mean breakthrough in their stardom as leading actors with big-budget dramas under their belt. I know contrary to popular belief Zhao Jin Mai is goated (she was very high achiever in studies and her acting major) but this is first time newbies are leading S tier market and managed to garner more attention than established actors like Yang Mi and Zhao Liying.

Its mid/good but not something out of this world, ZLH fanbase is happy cuz after TPR debacle. They get to see the more of their favourite actor, romance pacing is natural, story isn't something extraordinary and major events are quiet predictable.
If you are expecting 9/10 drama that's not it but at the same time, its not boring. If you are planning to watch this, I will recommend you fast-forward first 4 episodes, and story will pick up after that.

I kindly disagree 2024 is newbies era cuz we saw plenty of new faces in the Chinese industry. ZLH is just one of them (ZJM, Wang Xing Yue, Zhang Jing Yi, Zhou Ye..etc)
