Watching this drama indeed felt like playing memory game whenever I see new character being introduce, who is he, I think I've seen this actor before & I was so happy when I remember it right, like on today's ep too 😂 But I didn't recognize Duke Chu at all, lol.
I was today's years old when I found out the actor who's playing Duke Chu here was actually the same actor who played Master Lize Palace on LAR, like huh?? they look totally different 🤯. Hi, as a viewer who hv been watching this drama straight right from LAR, I had my worries too before watching, but my worries have been proved wrong, the characters & set up were quite different so I don't feel any trouble to separate the characters between two dramas, I see them as a completely different person. I'm also a hardcore shipper of Cheng Yi Bin Yuan since their chemistry are just damn amazing on LAR (& ofc their stellar love story) but I don't feel any problem to root for the CP here.
The similiar cast only brought smile to my face as it just feels nostalgic & am just happy to see these familiar faces rather than to hv a completely different casts. I'm loving the drama so far.
As for the ending, nothing is for sure I guess? (Tho maybe this is just me on denial, lol) But regardless the ending, I think their journey, how the actors portraying the characters would be wonderful to see although it may be heartwrenching too. But since am impressed with the acting so far, I think it's gonna be worth it. Feel free to try or pass the drama tho, I just want to share my pov as one of LAR admirer 😊

The scene in the forest is def my fav, such a heartfelt & meaningful moment and I can see their chemistry there. Hoping for more of these moment to come ❤. I don't mind with romcom thropes (welcoming it), but I do feel RY character shines more when she tone down her bubbliness a lil', ie. the forest scene where she hv a meaningful conversation with QY with eye contact ☺️. Tho being silly once in a while is also okay to crack QY smiles 😆
Just cameback from watching ep 11 & 12, my thoughts: - Am loving Yan Zhi more & more by each ep, this girl know what she's doing and how interesting it is to see, I must say her character is hard to be portrayed of since it's never clear where she stands for & what exactly her deal is, but the actress nailed her role perfectly. - as for Ruo Yu, I like her character more in these ep, I see some growth & I appreciate her sincerity, her willingness to learn & her effort to understand Qi Yan (just like how Qi Yan appreciate her too). Her bubbly character might not fit that well with the rest theme of the drama that she may came across as romcom figure in historical settings, idk if it's the acting or the writing, but I think she'll get better & blend well with the other once her character mellow out, today's ep shown it too. - last but not least, Qi Yan, am really happy to see that finally he could have someone to talk to instead of talking in the corner w/ some bloody handkerchief that even held such pain memories, too damn sad & cold. In today's ep Qi Yan spills some words that makes my heart flutters yet he does that so effortlessly as if it's nothing, have mercy to my heart juse yo~
This drama is becoming more interesting as more ep goes, like a chess play & one after another player come to play.
