The original YTY (Jin Gyeom's mom) doesn't belong to 1992-2010 era because she came from the future/ travelled back to the past. So even without these pararel dimension theory, there could be two ver of YTY present on 2010 (one is YTY in her original timeline who still in her college & another one is the future YTY who travelled back to the past & gave birth to Jin Gyeom and later died on 2010). That's why she change her name to Park Sun Young, to avoid the confusion/ mixed up identities.

At 2020, the main ML discover a woman named Yoon Tae Yi, a young physic professor who had the exact same face & behaviour as his mother, they worked together to unravel those mysteries.

However, it wasn't just because of compassion that Do-yeon helped Jin Gyeom. Do Yeon, who think it's natural that Jin Gyeom, an unemotional person, cannot feel heterosexuality is not impatient. Rather, she believed that Jin Gyeom also liked her & she waited for the day when Jin-gyeom would realize his feelings, but unexpected rival appears. She looks like Jin-gyeom's mother and is pretty and attractive, so she can no longer be cool. She have to step up to make Jin-gyeom her man somehow.
