He has his own baggage to settle with & HX misread the situation (you can see how preoccuppied his mind when HX went for that kiss), yes what he did is wrong for not apologizing on the spot, but he's never a red flag to me, far from it, he's just not ready to share his lifetime burden with her, yet.
SML is the real red flag one & even with all of his red flags behaviour many went gaga with his hotness & turn a blind eye on it.
I wouldn't be surprise to see Pei would be the one who first find out about the relation between XZY & ZX's dad (he'll purposely re-do his background checking on her) & use it to sabotage XZY & HX relationship. He is just that low.

I truly enjoy watching it & keep expecting for newest ep to drop, contrary to the novel that often get on my nerves, the drama is superior in every aspect & every change is actually made for the better, really like how the characters here are fleshed out, conversation has depth, SML also there for a reason (not just for love triangle) & loving their heartwarming directing
4 ep in, I like every change they've made from the webnovel, their occupation, their background, basically everything they change actually only add depths & meaning to the show.
I gave up on completing the novel coz *no offense I feel like most of what I read (more than half of the chapters) are on the surface level & annoying love triangle.
But having said that *knock on wood, this drama really hits different (almost opposite). I really really like how they change their occupation & dreams, making it more relatable & easier to feel connect with, I also like the warmth they share in the directing & so far from 4 ep the drama only gets better by each ep. Hopefully they can maintain this quality till the end & fingerscrossed, no annoying love triangle please!
