Ep 17 😱 I didn't expect they'd come so soon, the storm is comiiiingg!!
Just like I said earlier, this loving tender moments between our leads will only last for a while & shd be cherish while it lasted, it will be hard to see them like this anymore, idk if we could see it again & esp not in the near time 💔

Maybe coz he can't/ don't have the courage or maybe Eun Ho never asked him that either? We know very lil' of him & most if not all is from Eun Ho's POV alone, we shd probably wait a bit to find out more from his POV. I find it's a lil' unfair to judge him completely when all that we see is through Eun Ho's lenses, so ofc there are biases/ not the complete truth

From their break up scene it's been clear that he always mentioned how he never wanted to get married eversince the beginning of their relationship, Eun Ho taking it wrong & just brush it off thinking that later she can change his mind (which's ofc understandable) & yes he broke up with her coz Eun Ho has just told him how she's been wasting her time with him without marriage plans (something that's surprising for him too as he thought they are at the same page). So despite he still loves her at that time, he broke up with her, for her sake coz he can't give her this marriage she wanted. It's a problem of communication, but I think there's nothing wrong with his nor her stand or no, maybe more accurate with both is at fault for this misunderstanding.

We know nothing from his pov, maybe he heard something from Eun Ho during their relationship that makes him believe his baggage would burden her evenmore or she wouldn't like it? Or maybe Eun Ho has always been dependant on him (& expect her man to be reliable) that he feel like he shd be her strongest pillar so he feel recluctant to share his vulnerable side?
I hope we can see more from his pov to understand his character better.

Not everyone, I don't find him toxic, toxic is a strong words to labelled him with.

Rather I find him a misunderstood character, yes he has his fault, his fault is that he can't move on from Eun Ho yet hasn't been able to hv the courage to explain himself why he can't give her the marriage she wants due to this baggage he carried/ find confidence to share his burden to her eventhough he still loves her.
Just like Eun Ho still can't tell him the truth about her mental health/ DID problem either.

Agreed, I can see that, I like your take, instead of judging them as a character, you give more time to see what's beneath it all, like reason behind characters or if there's any symbolism that you missed

There are things that I like and things that I don't with the ending.
I liked that they at least give the FL the time she needed to sort her feelings & rediscover her true self.

What I don't like, even w/ all their history, I still can't picture this pairing as a couple.
Maybe if the ML & FL has more chemistry together then I'll find them more believable but to me they don't, then and now 😅 so I can only see them as beautiful people, beautiful landscape but lacks of meaning nor believable enough as couple, I feel nothing when they kissed, just nothing.
Maybe coz imo they never really fleshed out the ML's character so his character never came of as real to me, just too sweet & vanilla like 🤣

Hyun Oh be like doing A to Z for Eun Ho straight from doing groceries, cooking, feeding, sweeping, washing dishes, provide daily needs, driving her to the psychiatrist, cheering her up, yet people instantly judge him from his 1 words alone that he spoke without context, that doesn't even get to be explained well since they show it in the very last minute.

When the show is about mental health, to understand people better & give them a chance rather than make a whole assumption based on that alone, I just feel sad.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm happy EH stood up for herself, but I feel like anything HO does, any good deeds of his, never matters coz some people be like focusing on his words alone, when in life there're others too who is just as bad at explaining himself just like Hyun Oh does.

I think he's a person who used to surpressed his feelings well, but even so, he shed his tears although still try to hide it with a smile during their break up

You need to read between his lines to understand him, it means for her to stand up for herself & shdn't get to be bothered w/ others. Better focus on his action more, coz his character is just bad in explaining himself.

To be fair, we haven't got to see his chapter unlike most of the characters here that already been explained & fleshed out, all that we see of his is from Eun Ho's pov only

Yes the director gives his character so many bad words that easily get interpreted in a bad way & I think it's intentional, in a hope viewers can read between his lines, like this OP does
And when it does I find it's actually beautiful, like his desperate way to say "please be with me despite everything"

If you mean by broke up, I think it's on both.
He thought he already make it perfectly clear that he doesn't want to get married eversince they're in a relationship, but Eun Ho think that she can change him. He broke up not because he wanted to but because he can't give Eun ho what she wants despite still loving her.
And I find the directing of the drama is purposely throwing a bad shades to his character's words, in a hope for viewers to dig a deeper meaning & see his action but many failed to get coz they throw this stupid fake love triangle 😮‍💨

Really? I don't think so, coz on ep 6 preview there's a scene with him all sad & drenched in his car

Idk, I'm just tired seeing how people so eagerly find every excuse to hate Hyun Oh without actually making any effort to understand his character & read between his lines when clearly the directing of the drama requires you that

Eunho is not on her holiday though & if someone's depressed you shd dragged her out to see the light & not dwelve on her sorrow by sleeping. Hyun Oh did great in cheering her up, providing her needs, cleaning her messy house, cook for her too, throw some jokes that makes her laugh, you don't see how his presence lighten her up? When she literally glows.
Hyeri doesn't even present when he's around.
Idk why people can't even try to understand him & everything he does all must be wrong, maybe if you could see what's beneath his lines, you can understand him more, just like this OP does

We need to read between the lines to understand what it truly means esp with Hyun Oh's character & lines coz everything of his was burried underneath, just like what the premise stated about him
"and her ex-boyfriend 'Hyeon-oh', who keeps his emotional wounds tightly hidden!"
