I think the reason most likely is because the property was run down and wasn't worth much as it's in the country compare to their property in the city. I remember her parents were saying they will sell their house once they have the money from the house they're living in and giving it to mch as her dowry and they move to live in a smaller place so it wasn't because they're poor and destitute but because she wants her daughter to have a good marriage and it not just because he's rich but because he also loved her. The problem with his family and not with him, is what the mother is thinking and she didn't mind being look down on if her daughter can marry well.

What do you mean by that, like i said he has been working nonstop so he has loss some weight. Once he has some rest he will gain back his weight. He's not starving himself and is trying to build up muscles so why are you so focus on his looks so much.

I don't think she's abusive beside that one time she slapped her daughter, and she instantly regretted it, but agree she was too controlling. Good thing she finally change towards the end and becomes more relax.

Is this mom bad i don't think so, beside that time she was forcing her daughter into a marriage she didn't want in which she eventually apologized. Other than that she's a much better mom than those who neglected their own kids. I have seen worse moms, those who physically and emotionally abused their children so this is not the worse mom character.

I think what he loss is some baby fat and he looks more mature as he age. Also did you see his training video, he's trying to build up muscle, so what do you mean by saying he loses muscle mass. And i don't agree with you, xukai was gorgeous in bce.

Xukai has always been charming so that hasn't change whether he loss some weight or gain some weight. He has started to working out to build up muscle and i do think he look a bit skinnier as he loss some baby fat. As for your original comment about his look, he looks older and more mature and i don't see anything wrong with him beside being exhausted from overwork. That's why i hope he will have a long break and from seeing his activities and him doing more variety shows he will have times to do the things he want to do before he going back to filming. And he will gains his weight back no worry about that since xukai is a food lover.

He has been working nonstop so he must be tired and he also looks a bit skinnier but once he's back home he will gain back some weight. Let hope xukaì will have a long rest before he goes back to filming his new drama. Although if he gains some weight all those critics will fat shamed him again, it's a vicious cycle.

They had an arrangement that he pretend to be her faked husband and he went into it willingly because he want to escape his mother meddling in his affair. He could go back to his house after they got together since his mother didn't approve of her, but he chose to stay with her, so that's his choice and has nothing to do with her.

I don't remember him being sexually or physically assauted by her. Also her lying about her marriage status and asked him to posed as her fake husband is what led to them having an arranged marriage for convenient as he also needs her to escape his mother's meddling in his personal life. She's a beautiful woman so it's not that hard to see why someone like him who is not very experienced in love would fall for a more experienced older woman.

His character was very ackward socially, so him being against her was just him being suspicious since an attractive woman just came up to him must've an ulterior motive. He was really attracted to her from the first, this drama is kind of a gender reversal since she was the experienced woman while he was probably a virgin. If he's an idiot it was written in his character, socially awkward but very high iq kind of like a nerd.

They have a marriage of covenient, and what's so bad about being a house husband, their arrangements work well for them. Many women have done it in the past and they didn't complain. She works and provided him a place to sleep while he does the housework.

This happens before in wonderland of love too before the drama aired, complained about xukai and praised jing tian. I asked that person what dramas they've seen of jing tian and they couldn't answer a basic question. That's why don't let it get to you, it could be just a hater pretending to be a fan of the actress to make trouble for the drama before it even air.

I have a different of opinion because i like the mom and i thought she provided plenty of moral lesson as she reminded me of my own mother but also show us how being a mother is not easy and how to not become like her as she got such a perfect daughter and she drove her away because of how controlling she was, unlike yangzi character i'm not such a perfect daughter and my mom is much better than her mom so this drama makes me appreciates my own mother more eventhough she does have some similar traits to this mom.

I thought he looks familiar so i was right, he was also in ancient love poetry with xukai. Is it a coincidence he was shooting a variety show with his two true god brothers and now his best friend and they're all in ancient love poetry ^^ I hope they will film together again in the future for a new drama ❤️

That's your choice, drama with imperfect charaçters like the ml and the fl's mother is what attracted me to this drama as i want to know how they will change towards the end or will they have any character developments. This is a family drama and focus on the mother and daughter relationship. The ml has his own reason for being the way he's, his relationship with his grandma i think she's the only one he cares about as he was neglected growing up so he is very cold towards everyone else. Can fl and her ex relationship be salvaged if you watch further you will find out why it will not as he's too immature for her.

I really enjoy his dancing and hope to see xukai dance again. We all know he's not a dancer, and this was a challenge for him to copy a girl dance group and i thought he did a pretty good job. Also i like he doesn't take himself too seriously and willing to make a fool if himself to follow up on his promise. I do think if he has more practices he will be just as good as the pro dancers as i seen him dance in that one movie with zhao lusi and he was not half bad.

I guess i'm just more emotional and i understood not everyone will like the plot as it was written only for the drama i think. The one i feel sympathy for is yzm, he lost his grandma and now loses his last remaining relative.

I knew from novel he will have a small part in the drama so yzm having less screen time is kind of expected. I was hoping the writer will write more for him in the drama compare to novel. What you said about not having the father at all just because he wasn't introduce in the beginning is unreasonable bevcause his father actually got a huge chunk of the story even if it was later and i think it's necessary to give some background to yzm not just make him a love interest even though he kind of is. Eventhough the father was introduced later, i felt his character and understood him, he wasn't a good man but he was willing to change for his son, i think the acting of the actor who play yzm father and xukai is what make their relationship and i was really moved by his death since yzm finally accepted him and want to get to know his father after being estranged from him for so long, and his grief for his father and regret for missing a chance to have him in his life was really heartbreaking.
