Usually they dumb down support characters to make main characters shine, here they dumb down some of the good guys to make the demons look more formidable than they actually were. However it's still watchable and even entertaining watching how messy it became when the demons are so heavily favor by writer ^^

There's a lesson learned from this drama it doesn't matter if you failed as long as you don't give up. I like this message a lot. Also I'm glad to see more focus on xue ying, jing qiu, yang bo and you yue. So besides xue ying level up, the three of them also level up after practicing the manual they got from the old master. Xue ying have a lot of people supporting him beside jing qiu, his master and friends all fighting against the demons willing to give their life to fight defending against the demons. I'm kind of disappointed with the demon god fight, ao lan seems more powerful than him, he was able to trap xue ying and caused a lot more trouble than the demon god. After xue ying destroyed that flower he was so easily killed by xue ying, and here I wonder how is he demon god but was much weaker than his subordinate lol. I remember he was saved many times by him too. I'm sad for yang bo, was it necessary for you yue to die, writer didn't have to kill her off when they finally beat the demon god, why couldn't they give them a happy ending. Also one positive qing shi is not annoying and actually a help to his brother after ji rong died. Should've done that sooner, either turned her good or let him find out about her much sooner, would've improve this drama from being just watchable to being a much better story. Finally we see xue ying and jing qiu have a son and the same actor that played him as young xue ying now playing his son so he'll grown up to look exactly like his father ^^

Was kind of disappointed we didn't get a fight between xue ying and situ hong. If situ hong was the one to be taken over by the demon god, I wonder how that fight would be like. The fight between him and his master he seems to always hesitating so he couldn't fight all out, that must be the reason the demon lord chose to take over his master's body. The writer chose to give situ hong a redemption arc, but in the end he became just a sacrifice in order to make the demon god stronger. Kind of pitiful, if he met his childhood friend earlier, he might not not turn bad and chose the demon side.

If writer wants audience to care for qing shi and ji rong cp, they could've make ji rong regret her decision much earlier before she cause so many deaths and caused the death of qing shi's two uncles, make qing shi figure ji rong out much sooner, writing these two characters into this drama is such a waste of time when there're so many characters they could focus on. Having qing shi killing ji rong is the only way out, I can't think how things could've ended with these two any other way. The writing could've been so much better if these two have better brain and not be so stupid. The writing for the main CP is so strong, jing qiu and xue ying have such a strong bond that she would give up her divine bloodline to stay with him. Does that mean she can't go back to her kingdom anymore, so who will be the ruler now that she left? I kind of understand why she choose the human world over the heavenly realm since she live there most of her life, and it's where her lover and friends are.

How was it overhyped when it wasn't.

I can't believe how qing shi still able to trust ji rong knowing she was half demon, she even attacked his own brother, and gave her a chance to cause so many deaths. First it was xue ying territory and now it's the place he worked. The writing for this character is just so frustrating, why did he even get this position in the first place, because of him inviting ji rong in so many have died. Also ji rong hating humans is one thing, but how can she be so stupid as to trust demons when all they're doing is using her, they didn't hesitate to send someone to kill her, but she still trusting them while her master and qing shi have been so nice to her. These two are the most infuriating characters, if they were smart I wouldn't be so mad. Her master is still covering for her knowing what she did, we can forgive her action before but this time she helped the demons killed so many humans how can he still defend her. As a master wanting to save your student from committing a mistake I can understand, but if your student refused to be save why do you still defend her. These characters are so frustrating 😞

I didn't read the book, but I heard it didn't follow novel. It has its own storyline.

That's true, alp is an S+ project and the writing for each character, the plot, cgi and the acting of most of the characters, soundtracks everything was directed to perfection beside the short ending. Overall that drama stands above many xanxia dramas I seen in the past. You can say that drama was done with lots of care and I will always appreciate those who works on that drama for producing such a masterpiece ^^

I think she could improve in eyes acting, however I felt it's how the character was written, but you can't compare this drama to alp since it's a different genre. Also alp has Zhou dong yu as fl an award winning actress, she and xukai makes alp so good because of their acting beside having great cgi ^^

He's really annoying because of his infatuation with her, he overlooked her fault and this is just bad writing. I can't believe even now he still trust her even after she attacked his brother.

Have you seen xukai in court lady, he was playing a good for nothing
who became a general, and I really like that character for his strength and intelligent as well as his comedic side ^^

Wonderland of love is a different genre and production looks more expensive than sel. Also the author of original material is involved in the making of this drama, and jing tian is a good actress from trailer. I'm also looking forward to wonder land of love. Just hope there won't be too many editing to ruin the drama like some of xukai past dramas due to censorship.

Xukai is the type of actor no matter what roles he plays you can't help but like him even if he plays a villain. In an interview he said he wants to tries many different roles, can't wait to see him play a villain ^^

Compare to sahph, he got lots more screen times in sel. I think it's only in the middle of the drama that I felt some support characters got too much screen times, but in the beginning and towards the ending his screen times increase as a result the drama also got better ^^

So xue ying is suspecting situ hong as working for the demon clan, but the elders didn't believe him and took situ hong's side over xue ying. Is this because they think he loss his cousin and aunt due to the demon that's why he couldn't possibly work for them. At least test him to check whether he has any demon power? Xue ying was put in prison just by the word of situ hong and they just believe him as a murderer, but when xue ying suspected situ hong as being a demon spy, these elders didn't even investigate him. No wonder the demons are winning,these elders are too easily fool. And to think someone was saying xue ying was favor over situ hong when the elders keep going easy on him compare to how they treat xue ying back then.

Also it seems jin qiu wasn't angry with xue ying like I thought, so she knew the reason he send her back to her kingdom and didn't want to be a burden to him as a result she pretend to believe in his lie in the first place. Hopefully they can find a way to get back together, xue ying hasn't given up ^^

There were some weak writing on a few support characters, but main leads, their friends and demon sides are great to watch. If you like this genre, I recommend it, also the relationship between main leads are really sweet and supportive ^^

He already went to the demon association in spirit to look for his mother and girlfriend so he already knew what was happening that why he bring everyone there to rescue his mother and girlfriend. How are you going to fault him for worrying for his girlfriend after seeing her lying there. Also there was a conversation between him and his girlfriend and she told him his mother must have a reason to let herself be captured by the demon since she has her ancient blood and her brother couldn't have taken her against her will if she didn't come willingly. In this ep, we learned his mother deliberately let herself be captured in order to kill the demon god, so in order to trap the demon god, he has to have her blood mix with his. I felt the reason we don't see them able to get to her is because there were too many demons for them to fight. He was fighting against many demons, but I agree they should've show him trying to get to his mother but being blocked by all the demons.

The romance is one the best parts of the drama lol. What don't you like about their pairing?

Finally this is the final week, this schedule of 3 days a week, 4 days of waiting for new eps I can't get use to at all. Is anybody still watching this drama. I think rewatching sel again after all the eps air will make the drama much better when I don't have to wait for new episodes. I might've posted a similar comment last week lol ^^

I think the legend has problem towards the end from editing to being too long. Hope wonderland of love will have consistent writing towards the end. I'm also looking forward to wonderland of love and Chinese paladin 6 ^^
