Anyway I'm not fans of either of them, but I think their government is too overpowered, a tax evasion scandal could cancel an artist even after the payment was made to rectify the issue.

Xukai has always been doing his own fight scenes in his past dramas so there's no worry about his fighting scenes. It's all good if Esther can also do her own fight scenes, I have never watch any of her dramas, but I wish this drama success and everything going well with the ml and fl cooperation for their new drama. You shouldn't get so work up and being so defensive, whether it was about her voice or about her action scenes, those people have their own preconceived notion, but it can be proven wrong once the shooting started.

You're right, how are the two of them to cooperate in this new drama if fans of Yu shu xin keeps insulting xukai and his fans keep having to defend him. In an interview in the past, xukai was asked about the first and second billing, and he said it doesn't matter, he only wants to make a good drama. So the fans shouldn't care about it either. Since they're announced as the main leads of this drama, I hope their fans will settle down and not make anymore trouble, otherwise who knows if the show will get cancel because of their fans fighting on social media since their government is so strict about such things these days.

Matron meng loses her position for her daughter, but that daughter doesn't even appreciate her or even learn her lesson. Should've let her be punish for it, could've save us lots of frustration for this character. Zi Jin is too nice, yuehua was the one responsible for accusing Zi ping and her for poisoning the empress, Zi ping was put in jail, and she has to suffer zhan ji's anger for lying to him, got lock up, loss her voice, etc and she just let Yuehua comes back to work like nothing happens. She should've reported her or have her move out of the kitchen as a punishment, letting her work in the kitchen and cooking for the empress will invite more trouble in the future. This is the one thing that I feel is bad writing for this character, she shouldn't be allow to work in the kitchen at all. Also the killing of the empress sister was never revealed, the empress was suspicious of Zi Jin, but she never question her, no one knew Yuehua was the last person to see her beside matron meng I think. In a sense it was not yuehua's fault since the sister was using her to help her to commit suicide I suppose...Still it was never mentioned by the empress again which is weird knowing how she punished Zi Jin before when her sister got punished by the empress dowager. Wonder if it was edit out of the show for some reason.

I think I got my answer. This drama is not like those other popular dramas with other favorite idols, those people must've rate it down because they're afraid their favorites are losing to this one. I'm the type who doesn't care about rating, and would watch a drama regardless if it's takes my interest or has the actors/actresses I like, but I have to say this drama deserves the hype it gets. The fact I watch those other xianxia dramas only one, but I could repeatedly watch this drama just make this drama superior to them, well also because of xukai. He's an actor who can really get into characters and his efforts is appreciated. Have watched him since story of yanxi palace, and I've always feel he brings the chemistry to whomever he works with ^^

What happens to season 2. Heard a while back there will be a season 2 for this drama, but it's already been 3 years and no announcement.

I think it will be hard to get a second season, but not because it's hated by Chinese viewers, but because of conflict of schedule of all the casts. The king avatar was also rumor for a second season, but we still not hear much from it.
