Was listening to the osts for this drama, and there was one ost that's not in the drama. I think it's call days and nights, was wondering if it was edit out from the drama to make the drama fit into 49 episodes, and that's why drama just feel so short compare to the other xanxia dramas that are much more drawn out.
What's up with our translators? It's been two whole days without anything and ep 25 & 26 are available to be translated!
Oh so the counting down timer is wrong on mdl? Since you're saying ep 25 and 26 are out already, but the counting down timer is ep 25 is out on mar. 11.
I started this by accident :D and really enjoying so far (watched 7 episodes). I read about main leads' separation,…
Agree with you. The main lead separation is good for their development. Also there are many interesting side characters, that didn't take away from the drama ^^
In this drama, Xu Kai has a whole different level of visual. The best visual of all of his drama that i've ever…
I find him attractive no matter what, he can make whatever he wears work for him, maybe it has to do with being a model, that's why even when others look awkward when wearing unflattering costumes and make up, it didn't detract from his good look ^^
During Ming Dynasty, concubines who didn’t bear any children were killed when the Emperor dies. Xuande Emperor…
I think women were treated like property in those days, so I doubt he even seen all of their faces. There was a few eps back when there was a conspiracy involving the concubines created by you yi fan, and he would have all those involved in the conspiracy executed regardless of their innocent, zhan ji came to plead for them, and he told him to mind his business; that just shows how little he care for them, since he would rather be wrong then let anyone guilty go free :(

For emperor zhan ji I heard having ten concubines is a low number, so he must have love his empress. In ep 13, when his grandfather died, I heard over 100 concubines were expected to bury with him. Such a barbaric practice, so I'm glad it finally abolish.

I heard it was abolished during emperor zhan ji son's reign, so I was wondering if zhan ji's wife the empress, I'm assuming zi jin will become empress in future has some influence, to change that practice/law. If that was ever acknowledged as one of her accomplishments as empress. In ep 13, she was saying to zi ping that this practice of burying concubines is wrong, and should be change, that's why I hope she will be the one to change the practice.
Indeed such practice of killing concubines who have never been pregnant was brutal and inhumane. As a period that…
All the concubines fought to sleep with emperor, that was also depicted in yanxi palace. The reality of the concubines treatment were appalling there as well, but at least they get to live to their old age, although the in-fighting between the concubines resulting in them being killed or punished if they didn't have the king favor was showed very clearly in that drama. This is even worse, even if there's less in-fighting between the concubines being showed here.
story doesn't make sense in many scenes. who edit this? did they cut some part of the story? anyway in episode…
She was given the task of bringing food to him, that's how she was able to come into his study. I think she did get permission to also read in his library by one of his men.
Up to ep 13, the emperor died. Omg what an absurd rule, concubines with no children will be bury with the emperor once he died, and they're not a small number how can such a rule exists. These concubines are treated even less than a normal servant. How sad for these women, concubine Zhang was so pitiful, she didn't want to die, but in the end she has to follow this rule that they're saying can't be changed...What zi jin said to zi ping I hope will be true, maybe she will be the one to change this rule once she becomes empress.
