Soo frustrating, it completed 32 episodes still there is no romance between the main lead and more even they barely…
Oh so it still focuses on the cooking even after zi Jin became concubine. That good to know since I love the focus of the different dishes, and hopefully they will get a happy ending, and more focus on their relationship ^^
Was checking out some of the comments on other airing dramas, and it turn out most of them either don't have sub or have bad sub including Zhang nan and yao chi drama. Why her drama has such poor rating, are people rating it for the sub, or the story ? Seems like these companies that are producing these dramas don't want to make a profit from international fans, I doubt that is the reason, I heard there's massive layoff from these companies, and that's why the subtitles are slow in coming. Then again mangotv doesn't have a good rep for good sub in the first place.
I am utterly disappointed with this drama! Nothing makes sense, completely lost in translation. I’m on episode…
How is the drama. Does it focuses on politics or on the emperor's concubines? Is it still focus on the cooking even after zi Jin became a concubine? Does it get darker, is it similar to yanxi palace? I was hoping for a lighthearted drama, with a light romance as a backdrop, hope I won't be disappointed and the main CP will get their happy ending. What channel are you watching for the sub since you are already up to ep 35, I'm watching from YouTube and I'm only at ep 17, but I don't want to watch bad sub since you're saying you still don't understand the drama even with the sub.
Silly Li Xuan. Just like in City Hunter, it has a plot that I hate. Some scumbag is using the kid for his own…
In the beginning I thought like you, that the old master was using him. But after watching it all, I have to say the old master was feeling guilty over his mother's death, and he truly care for him. Lixuan gotten special treatment by being made a hero to guard the humans, even though his power was nothing special. You can't blame lixuan for siding with the humans, all his friends are humans, his father is human, he loss all memory of his mother since the old master took away his memory since young. When he awaken his power when his father died, the old master actually let him go rather than letting him be capture by the king men. In term of the plot, I was kind of frustrated too, the synopsis was different from what actually happens in the drama, wish this drama has follows the synopsis instead.
In ep 17, we get a flashback, and it seems zi Jin gotten skipped over and wasn't selected as prince consort. However she's not bitter about it, and actually care more for her freedom then becomes a prince consort. She told the crown prince she wants to stays a cook instead of being a concubine to him. I kind of understand her reason though, from what she said those young girls who were consider as candidates were lock away and were trained to be select for his consort, and in the end they weren't selected including her. Her story reminds me of the empress from yanxi palace, who became a princess consort before become an empress, who loves her husband, but in the end value her freedom more, who committed suicide after she felt betrayed by the emperor... The life of the empresses and concubines are so sadly depicted in yanxi palace, in this one it's also alluded to their reality, not all pinks and roses.
I'm surprised ye hua would stoop to stealing to win, it just shows she is not confident in winning against zi ping and zi Jin. Why is she acting that way? She used to want to be friend with zi Jin, but now she's competitive and doesn't care what she has to do to win. I wonder if it has anything to do with matron meng, is she jealous of zi Jin because matron meng acknowledges zi Jin?
I have a different view here I rewatch this drama so many times, while I could only watch ashes of love one. When…
Well he did married her, he just didn't complete the marriage . Tianqi was helping baijue keeping a secret from shanggu about his marriage because baijue already made up his mind about dying in place of shanggu, so he is making shanggu think him as a bad guy.
I don't have a good impression of the sml since the beginning. From the first, he beats up zi ping, then uses…
Yanxi palace was what started my love for the cp in royal feast. The fl in royal feast is also fl in yanxi palace, the ml in royal feast is sml in yanxi palace. If you do start yanxi palace let me knowwhat you think of it. I had such a sls for fuca fuheng, it what start my love of xukai and I start to follow all his dramas ^^
I may be in the minority here but I loved only episodes 1-12. In this part of the story, I enjoyed the dynamic…
I have a different view here I rewatch this drama so many times, while I could only watch ashes of love one. When I first watched this drama I thought baijue and qingmu are the same person, but as I keep rewatching I realize they're not. Baijue split himself into two half, one with his immortal power, one without so the one with no immortal power could absorb demon power. So the one with demon power is qingmu who has no memory and loves houchi. Baijue loves shanggu, and loves houchi likes family, houchi never find out baijue and boxuan is the same person, she also considers boxuan as family, I don't think she would 've stabbed him if she knew. Her hatred for baijue is because she think he erases both qingmu and boxuan existences because of his power of true God, and because he is heartless and doesn't care about anyone feeling. Baijue has his own reason for marrying the princess though, because he knew he's going to die soon so he wants houchi to give up on qingmu and move on with her life. So when houchi interrupts his marriage to the princess and stabbed him, the marriage wasn't completed because he got what he wanted, houchi hatred for baijue. He was only using the princess to get houchi to give up on qingmu and he succeeded. The reason he let the princess to stayed with him even though they didn't complete their marriage is also to monitor her mother since wuhuan has already became a devil. I think this drama is so like a novel, if you don't understand something, if you keep watching it will fills in the blank. That's why this is my favorite drama, I didn't mind the slow pace because I just love the plot and characters development of most of the major characters ^^
This series re-activated my second male lead syndrome 😩🥺
I don't have a good impression of the sml since the beginning. From the first, he beats up zi ping, then uses the king concubines to make trouble for the food service and concubine Zheng was made to suffer for it, then he uses yue hua to get revenge on his father's wife and matron meng loss her job over it. I don't like guy who abused women, does he change later on? Did he apologize for almost killing zi ping? My sls is still fuca fuheng from yanxi palace, I always make comparison of the sml to him, and they always fell short, that's why I call fuca fuheng too perfect to be real ^^
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF YUEMI AND TIANQI HAVE A HAPPY ENDING?
No they don't. Her reincarnation is the little girl in the human realm houchi saved and qingmu taught swordsmanship. This was known only in novel. Yuemi and tianqi have their own novel written about them that hasn't been adapt to drama yet.
Episodes 17-24 were disappointing to me, as BaiJue, now QingMu, fails to display any of his original qualities…
Qingmu is the total opposite of baijue. Some people on here seems to refer his character to baijue because of how carefree he is. Once he made up his mind about houchi, he became a really reliable guy and want to do everything to please her, just so different from baijue. I find him adorable, like a puppy ^^
In episodes 1-16, the romance between the ShangGu and BaiJue was awkward and illogical, but cute. BaiJue seems…
I have to disagree with you since I really like shanggu character. Sure she's childish in the beginning, but her character liveliness is what attracts baijue whom is really awkward around people. I guess I would call it opposite attracts, since I'm kind of have similar personality to baijue, and I'm drawn toward people who are more outgoing. Also she's the only one who was able to get close to him, and became his student, otherwise he would have no interaction with her. If I have to say both of them are very innocent, baijue seems to have no interaction with any females beside her, so in the beginning when he was transferring energy to her, their interactions was really intimate, it got both of them embarrassed, and that where the attraction begins. Baijue loves shanggu, and cares for her as his student, so all along training her to be a leader, his first priority was her, so I'm not understanding why you're surprised that he would feel guilty after finding out she was to be a sacrifice. He is someone who is cold on the outside, but really soft on the inside. Shanggu becomes more mature after meeting baijue and became his student, her wanting to go training in the netherworld so she could get acknowledgement from baijue. Why wouldn't he fall for her, having someone who tried so hard to meet his standards and get his approval.
@ Draco I think that the Ming style clothing is fine on both of the men and women though albeit wide. But I guess…
I also like the muted color. Like you said elegant and refined, I don't have any problem with the color they chose, but I think it just doesn't look good on the women. It could also be the darker colors combine with the makeup don't pair well together. I think the servants clothes are hideous. I agree they could benefits with some blush and lipstick to bring out some colors, most of the women look older than their age. In contrast, Zhu zhan ji consort and concubine looks good in their ming costumes, I'm thinking this is due to they're wearing brighter colors. The men on the other hand, even wearing dark colors, they still look good, xukai just fits with the ming styles, but then again I also thought the same for his style in yanxi palace where he has a bald head ^^
I already said what I thought about wjy and her character in royal feast compare to yanxi palace. They're nothing…
I'm not being defensive, I'm just saying my opinion about her characters. In term of acting, I'm not an expert, but the fact she was able to make lots of people fall for her character, that's enough convincing in my opinion. Sure it's not perfect, and I heard she and xukai also were criticized for their acting, but like I said you can't satisfy everyone. But in comparison to their acting in royal feast, I think they've improved in their acting.
I'm surprised ye hua would stoop to stealing to win, it just shows she is not confident in winning against zi ping and zi Jin. Why is she acting that way? She used to want to be friend with zi Jin, but now she's competitive and doesn't care what she has to do to win.
