It wasn't like this when I started watching. It was changed after the drama ended for some reason. I have no idea why someone would think it's a good idea to spoil so much of the story :(

I think the only scenes of baijue being happy was in the god realm, his character was use to being lonely, and he didn't really care about it until he met shanggu. In a way shanggu broke her promise to him when she sacrifice her life, she promised to accompany him always, so he won't feel lonely anymore but after falling in love with her and watching her die in front of him, he was left alone for 60,000 years. I'm just glad houchi was there for him while he was in disguise as boxuan.
For qingmu, he didn't have too worry much being he loss all memory of his past, so he was just an ordinary immortal, so he was able to love freely unlike baijue. I think both baijue and shanggu wanted a love like what houchi and qingmu have, but they can't due to their status as true gods.

Fuca fuheng character in yanxi palace was a really tragic character, he was also a very righteous character like baijue. His ending was really sad, I ship him with the main girl in that show so hard even if he was only a s in port character. I don't like harem either, but I was able to really enjoy that show, the fl was really strong and smart, watching her beating her opponents was very satisfying. This show gave me such a strong sls and I never recover from it lol ^^
Hope this drama and she and her perfect husband will get an air date soon. It's was so nice to get 3 dramas of xukai in 2021, hope the same will be for this year 2022 ^^
Really like xukai in this role. Him and his family are the highlight of this drama. Really appreciate the family bond between the brothers, the love they show for each other, and it was so funny how the father is so afraid of his own wife ^^ I can imagine sheng chu mu will become like his father and brother-in-law when it comes to fu rou ^^ His character change feel realistic, at first it was due to impressing a girl, and gradually as he became a true soldier he started to realize how he can use his position to help fight pirates and make his family proud. For the romance, for those who feel frustrated about their separation, I find it's due to their separation that their relationship could build up to become much stronger. I find both of them were able to grow from being apart especially for sheng chu mu. I was enjoying them being at their best at what they do, her being a court lady and he being a general that commanded an army. His tactics and fighting skills were amazing, and that what I appreciate about his growths from being a degenerate to someone to be afraid of by his enemies ^^
Maybe, but it usually takes a year or more to go through the censor board, before it get the greenlight to air. Most of xukai's dramas are like that, so the 2022 air date is not a possibility. Still I hope I'm wrong, and it will air in 2022 ^^

Yeah no sls for me either. I like the main couple and the best friend couple is also really cute. I like how the breaks up play out, the ex boyfriend situation felt realistic, because sometimes things happen and you don't appreciate that person, and it's only when you loss them that you realize how much you care for them, but it's too late. This drama teaches us to appreciate the people you care about, so I'm glad that they show he finally let go and is at peace in her new relationship ^^
You should watch it. It's a worthwhile drama to spend your time on. I still can't move on from it after months…
