CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF YUEMI AND TIANQI HAVE A HAPPY ENDING?
No they don't. Her reincarnation is the little girl in the human realm houchi saved and qingmu taught swordsmanship. This was known only in novel. Yuemi and tianqi have their own novel written about them that hasn't been adapt to drama yet.
Episodes 17-24 were disappointing to me, as BaiJue, now QingMu, fails to display any of his original qualities…
Qingmu is the total opposite of baijue. Some people on here seems to refer his character to baijue because of how carefree he is. Once he made up his mind about houchi, he became a really reliable guy and want to do everything to please her, just so different from baijue. I find him adorable, like a puppy ^^
In episodes 1-16, the romance between the ShangGu and BaiJue was awkward and illogical, but cute. BaiJue seems…
I have to disagree with you since I really like shanggu character. Sure she's childish in the beginning, but her character liveliness is what attracts baijue whom is really awkward around people. I guess I would call it opposite attracts, since I'm kind of have similar personality to baijue, and I'm drawn toward people who are more outgoing. Also she's the only one who was able to get close to him, and became his student, otherwise he would have no interaction with her. If I have to say both of them are very innocent, baijue seems to have no interaction with any females beside her, so in the beginning when he was transferring energy to her, their interactions was really intimate, it got both of them embarrassed, and that where the attraction begins. Baijue loves shanggu, and cares for her as his student, so all along training her to be a leader, his first priority was her, so I'm not understanding why you're surprised that he would feel guilty after finding out she was to be a sacrifice. He is someone who is cold on the outside, but really soft on the inside. Shanggu becomes more mature after meeting baijue and became his student, her wanting to go training in the netherworld so she could get acknowledgement from baijue. Why wouldn't he fall for her, having someone who tried so hard to meet his standards and get his approval.
@ Draco I think that the Ming style clothing is fine on both of the men and women though albeit wide. But I guess…
I also like the muted color. Like you said elegant and refined, I don't have any problem with the color they chose, but I think it just doesn't look good on the women. It could also be the darker colors combine with the makeup don't pair well together. I think the servants clothes are hideous. I agree they could benefits with some blush and lipstick to bring out some colors, most of the women look older than their age. In contrast, Zhu zhan ji consort and concubine looks good in their ming costumes, I'm thinking this is due to they're wearing brighter colors. The men on the other hand, even wearing dark colors, they still look good, xukai just fits with the ming styles, but then again I also thought the same for his style in yanxi palace where he has a bald head ^^
I already said what I thought about wjy and her character in royal feast compare to yanxi palace. They're nothing…
I'm not being defensive, I'm just saying my opinion about her characters. In term of acting, I'm not an expert, but the fact she was able to make lots of people fall for her character, that's enough convincing in my opinion. Sure it's not perfect, and I heard she and xukai also were criticized for their acting, but like I said you can't satisfy everyone. But in comparison to their acting in royal feast, I think they've improved in their acting.
comments saying wjy's acting got worse but she was literally nodding to her lines in yanxi palace as if she was…
I already said what I thought about wjy and her character in royal feast compare to yanxi palace. They're nothing alike, just base on their education level. If you want to compare wjy to character from yanxi palace, she is more like the empress, who has a very gentle and forgiving nature. For xukai his character is a prince and it's his first princely role, I can't say I know how a prince should behave but I'm also enjoying him playing this character. It's the first time xukai playing a character like this who can draw, play an instrument, good in martial art, loves animals and nature, nice to his servants, etc. I would say he's more perfect than fuca fuheng from story of yanxi palace ^^ Still I would not use my modern eye to judge a historical figure, since they live in a different time and place with lots of constraints on women, both of them did well for their roles in yanxi palace and royal feast, and I'm assuming they're playing how the director want them to. For arsenal military academy, I think it's xukai's most carefree character, I love his character a lot, but if I'm being honest I still prefer him playing more cold and serious characters, he just has a face for those types of cool characters like fuca fuheng, baijue, lu si Cheng, and Zhu zhan ji, etc.
The ming styles look better on the men compare to the women. The women makeup and hair make them look much older than their real age. The only one I see doesn't look age is Zhan ji's consort and concubine, I really like the styles of the women skirts though ^^
The rating keeps going down thanks to the absurd subtitle from dramacool.
Many dramas are like that while it's ongoing. For this drama, some people have caught up with recent eps, for others they still waiting for good English sub. I'm the latter, and I love the story so far for the food theme, with a light romance. I still haven't see too much conflicts in this drama compare to other palace dramas, and I like and hope that it remains that way. For now I'm enjoying it for what's offer as a food lover, and for my love for the cp from yanxi palace, and also for seeing xukai as a prince, it's his first princely role ^^
I hope he'll star in more modern dramas, really loved him in "Falling into your smile"!
He has another modern drama she and her perfect husband with yangmi. Agree with you I don't watch many modern dramas, but if it's with xukai I will watch for sure ^^
@ Draco it seems like they are making ZZJ’s father seem more foolish. Historically, Hongxi emperor was a pretty…
From what I understand about the three emperors, the first one concerns about the fighting to protect his lands from invaders, the second one focuses on ruling the land and taking care of his people, the third one Zhu zhan ji want to defend the lands from invaders, as well as being in a benevolence ruler, so his rules actually mediate between the two extreme of his grandfather and father. From the drama Zhu zhan ji seems to favor his grandfather's ruling style, even if he consider being a benevolence ruler is only works if they can defend the lands. Zhu zhan ji grandfather and father ruling styles are very different, so this drama did a good job of differentiate the two emperors, but I do agree his incompetent is exaggerated here. Also it does appears he favor his grandson to inherit the throne, otherwise he might've given the title of crown prince to his other son, who takes after him more. Thanks for your detail explanation ^^
The empress has been showed in this drama to also being his helper, and help him many times to mediate his father's disapproval, the same with his son. For this drama, he seems to has a distance relationship with his wife compare to his concubine, also the relationship between father and son are much worse after he became emperor. I just don't find him worthy of being a ruler if he can't even treat his family well, I used to feel bad for him before for being treated badly by his father, but he acted the same way as his father has done to him by his treatment of his son and wife...
@ NUKA Wu Ji Yan nailed it big time as an actor in Yanxi Palace. In Hao Lan she was at best mediocre. In Royal…
I'll just reply to you about wu Jin Yan characters in yanxi palace and royal feast, I said it to someone else before when that person complained about her acting being similar to yingluo. I don't feel her character in royal feast is anything like ying luo, she's softer, more educated than yingluo, ying luo is definitely more street smart and seems to be more exaggerated like a modern girl than any historical figure. Ying luo is the type to get revenge for any wrongs that has been done to her, she never let anyone get the better of her, even someone in a higher position which is really could get her into lots of trouble if she wasn't main lead. Zi Jin on the other hand is much more forgiving than ying luo which I feel will get her in trouble for a different reason, and unlike yingluo who doesn't know to read or write and has to be taught later on after she met the empress, she is very knowledgeable in the arts of being a noble woman, since she was thought as a young girl to prepare herself to be a prince consort. Her character actually makes sense to have those attributes of being smart and capable to navigate the palace schemes being she was the girl that was chosen to be the prince consort out of all those girls that were being considered.
Watch up to ep 16, the empress was save by her son, thanks to zi Jin letting him knows about his mother's condition. I'm glad we get to see Zhu zhan ji taking his mother's side and back her up, so she could get her treatment. This is such a rare moment between mother and son since he seems so distant to her in the past. The emperor acted like a benevolent leader, but his treatment of his wife is so callous, him caring more for an unborn child that's is not even real over his own wife's plead is just sad. Also his refusal to listen to his son advice makes him look foolish, even if he doesn't want to take his advice, he didn't need to yell at him or be angry at him, he was just trying to help. This drama wants to portray this emperor as foolish compare to his father's rule. I wonder if this is true to historical account about this emperor.
Do you guys recommend the novel? I dropped this around episode 7 I think but I may read the novel first maybe…
The main storyline from novel is in ep 16/17 of drama. I recommend watching drama for the more details storyline of shanggu and baijue though, the beginning is slow but it's totally worth it once everything makes sense ^^
I can not see this drama. a long time ago. where can i see it
Some people comment either on facebook or Instagram if you want to watch to current eps with good sub. Otherwise you can watch on YouTube with VPN set to any Asian countries, although it's only sub to ep 16.
Two completely different dramas, why do you even compare the two. The two characters they played in yanxi palace…
It's ok if you want to make comparison, I just don't see why since it's so different from yanxi palace. I think the acting is good, even if most of the actors/actresses are younger compare to those in yanxi palace. In term of characters, xukai and wu jinyan characters in royal feast are much more layers compare to their characters in yanxi palace. Actors get criticism all the time, both xukai and wu Jin Yan were criticized for their acting in yanxi palace also even if they did well in their roles, so you can't satisfy everyone. I'm still not catching up to current ep, but I'm liking their acting so far.
Wu Jin Yan's acting has been the worst I ever seen from her since the beginning but in ep 26-27 I noticed how…
