The foods in this drama making me hungry. The plot is becoming more interesting, and I can't wait for ml and fl to finally meet and talk to each other after watching to ep 7, this drama really trying to build up our excitement over their first contact ^^

I think it did a very good job at putting the food as the center plot. I'm also liking the focus on the girls who enter the food service department, and the ml and fl relationship. I hope this drama will not become too heavy, and just focus on presenting the food, but I'm afraid it will turn much darker.

I feel bad for her being told to lose weight for this drama, and now she's being shame for not looking her best. Even in yanxi palace she was so skinny, but I notice Chinese people really have a weight problem, they're anorexic but they're being force to be in that mold not of their choosing, even xukai get fat shame in his recent drama ancient love poetry. The guy is perfectly healthy, but those cnetz dare to call him fat. Ridiculous 🙄

With Yu Zheng anything is possible. Court lady was lighthearted in the first half, then became so much darker in the second half.

I think this drama obviously meant for the couple fuying from yanxi palace, her last promise to him was to take care of him in their next life ^^ This was the director intention.

Actually most fl are written in their teens, so I assume it's not easy to find good actress that can play their role well at that age. Until more fl are written in their 20s and 30s, then that how things going to be. I wouldn't want any other actress than wu jinyan for this drama, I was looking forward to xukai and wu jinyan pairing since story of yanxi palace, so for me and many other fans it's their second chance to get their happy ending, and I think that was what the director was aiming for ^^ and in my opinion xukai also looks older in ming style not just wu jin yan so to me their age difference is not much compare to their roles in yanxi palace ^^

Fl is only a few years older than ml so it's an exaggeration to call her auntie. It's not fl fault, the ming style make up made all the women look older than their age.

Now I'm wondering how old is ml? I'm just so bad at age, even in yanxi palace I don't think I ever knew fuheng or yingluo's age as well as the emperor lol. Incidentally, I don't see people complain when ml is much older than fl, in yanxi palace the ml real age is much older than fl, but people still ship them together. It's such a sexist thing women have to live with, does that mean once she's over 30, she can't play roles of a young woman anymore?

Her character is very mature for her age, so what if she does play a 17 year old, and my comment about story of yanxi palace is because most of the actresses that played in yanxi palace were in their 30 and 40 and were portraying young teens, so for those who watched yanxi palace they stop caring about the age of the actresses. For this drama, all the actresses look older than their age, not just her. If it's such a problem for you, you can always skip this drama.

She is older than him, but not that much older. After watching yanxi palace, I stop caring about the actress real age, most of the actresses look much older than the characters they portrayed.

I'm only up to ep 5, but I'm glad to hear there will be more revealing. I'm really liking the backstory of the other 2 girls who compete with fl, especially the girl who became friend to fl, her story is really sad, losing her whole family and having to fend for herself. I'm glad she and fl became friends. This drama just becomes more interesting the more you watch, plus I just hope the main leads get their happy ending to make up for story of yanxi palace ^^

In what ep, does her age get mention? I'm only up to ep 5

There was an ep where the maids from the food service introduced themselves, but how come it skip the fl. It feel like it was edit out of the episode and should've been there since it would give us an introduction to the fl. Her background is still in the dark, the only thing we got about her is she met the ml when she was younger. I hope we will get a future ep where we get more background on the fl. Other than that, I'm liking their love story, it kind of remind me of yanxi palace somewhat when there was a maid servant who fell in love with fuheng and did many things for him, but he couldn't return her love since he was still hung up on yingluo.
