So zi Jin and zhan ji finally settle their differences. I'm glad she's telling him what she's thinking. Her position in the kitchen giving her a sense of freedom, she's not the same girl who was taught to become his consort and please only him. Now she's her own person, with thoughts and feelings, she doesn't want to change who she was for him. She is saying she will behaves as his concubine in public, but in private she wants to be treated equally to him. I'm amazed at her frankness, as an emperor he has all the power, the fact she could say all that to him shows she believes her own importance to him in his heart, that's why she could behave that way.

Yue hua starting to become more corrupted, the way she judged her mother, when she doesn't see she is much worse than matron meng. Matron meng regarded her position as important, but she would never stoop to cheating or lying to win.

So many thing happened in ep 31, Zi ping and the people under her gotten put in prison because they were suspected of poisoning the empress and cause her to have hallucinations. I have to wonder if the empress is truly sick or is she acting in order to get zi Jin in trouble because she's jealous over the emperor love for her. Zi Jin was only concubine for a short time but already become a concubine consort, which is the second highest position only lower than the empress position. Is yue hua working together with the empress to pins the blame of her illness on Zi Jin, to make the emperor turns against her?

Zhan ji came to see zi Jin because he wants her to tell him the truth, but she is too proud to ask him for help, this in turn makes him angry that's she is still hiding things from him.

Wonder if you yi fan is in on this with yue hua, she has been working for him all this time, is this her own doing because of her jealousy of Zi ping, or is there more to this situation.

Zhan ji is starting to trust yi fan, he is asking him for advice about zi Jin, not knowing he's also has feeling for her and might trepadize their relationship.

Falling into your smile going to be on Netflix, so I hope this drama will also appears on Netflix. Everything is done well in this show, the cgi, the acting, the plot, the chemistry between the characters males/females. This is the few dramas that I don't feel annoy over support characters, character development is great whether they're good or bad ^^ Was checking this drama a few times, and the rating keeps going up and down from 8.7 to 8.6, what's up with that, honestly this deserves a rating as high as eternal love.

I can't help but laugh when zhan ji gotten jealous seeing zi Jin sleeping with one of his concubine, that girl is so funny, she keeps trying to get his attention but always failed 😂 That scene reminds me of something similar that happened in yanxi palace between the empress and one of the king concubine, they were gossiped and it reach the emperor, his reaction is the same as in this situation lol 😆

The crown prince is a pitiful person, he mistook someone who looks like his old friend as confidant and trust the wrong people. The crown princess sacrifices her own sister is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. The same for the crown prince, at least he was able to mend fences with his own brother and realize his mistakes in the end. The crown princess on the other hand is unforgivable.

Really, I think the production did a very good job, case in point I can't help coming back to watch even after I finished. For those who love the plot and the main leads love story, the beginning is the best part because we get lots of their interactions and cute scenes together, such a sweet couple, their chemistry is great ^^

What great about this drama is, the ml and sml falls for the fl for her personality. Much better than the praise about beauty in other dramas that just feel superficial.

The dowager empress in royal feast and court lady are two strong women. Both of them able to control the emperor's harem as well as helping the emperor settle small matters in the palace. This is why it's a good thing for the empress to be strong and commanding unlike the one in yanxi palace who can't involve herself in the emperor business, and was a victim of those who schemes against her because she's too nice.

Zi Jin is trying to establish her footing, she wants to be acknowledged by the emperor, and stand out among his women. She is making friends with all of zhan ji's concubines and be acknowledged by them. However the emperor is not happy because he thinks she doesn't care about him even when he favors her. This is what is like being a concubine, she has to relies on the emperor's love for her to gains power. The empress seems sick, her symptom looks like she's pregnant but she's not favor by the emperor so I don't think that's the case.

Yi ping is acting more mature now that she gains her title of directress, she looks much better now that she changes her headpiece and has some lipstick on; the old headpiece of the serving girl is so ugly making all the servants look older.

Zhan ji is asking love advice from yi fan lol, it's not a good idea to ask advice from your love rival, he doesn't have good intentions, and more likely to drive a wedge between zi Jin and him.

The two attendants of zhanji are so opposite, one is constantly gossiping and the the other is more quiet, I like the quiet guy more. He's also seems more capable and loyal ^^

What a surprise, concubine gu actually try to poison the empress, the emperor died from a heart attack. Still I can't help but think this has to do with the foods cook by yue hua for the emperor. Zhan ji is a good brother, he let concubine gu off the list to be buried with the emperor even though she tried to poison his mother. The empress is a powerful woman now that she becomes dowager empress, her husband is dead and her son becomes emperor, her power is so much more now, she wouldn't let concubine gu who has been a pain to her go. Zi Jin tried to help concubine gu escape death, but she couldn't do anything against the dowager empress who has all the power. Zi Jin wants to change the ancestral rule, she would need to be able to have power equals to the dowager empress by getting the empress position. Zhan ji is stuck between his mother and his concubine, I feel sorry for him. He obviously was put in a difficult position, he couldn't show his affection to zi Jin because he's afraid his mother will take it out on Zi Jin. It's different being a crown prince to being an emperor, now he can't show favoritism without endangering her since she's only a concubine, although he wants to give her a higher position he has to get his mother approval.

You yi fan is working for his uncle, does that mean he's going against his own father and helping his uncle to get the throne.

I seen this short vids so many times already. Thanks for sharing, this short film could have been shoot for a long drama, but now with the censor of time travel, it's will not be possible. Would have like for xukai and wu Jin Yan to shoot a modern time traveling drama like this one ^^

For those who like zin zi ping play by he rui xian in royal feast. She has another drama airing on april call delicacies destiny, it's another food drama for those who interested ^^

Finally I watch up to the ep zhan ji father died, and he's going to become emperor. Compare to xukai character in yanxi palace fuca fuheng, his character in royal feast was born to royalty, his life is so much more easy and charm, while fuca fuheng was so miserable, married to someone he didn't love, pining over a girl who he can't have.
This feels like a compensation for the suffering fuheng bear in yanxi palace ^^ Zhan ji's father only rule for a year. How sad that he did not get to see his father before he die, his death was so sudden.

I can't think of the reason concubine gu would benefits from the empress's death. It doesn't make sense, matron meng was saying to concubine gu to be prepare, so she must've known the emperor was in poor health and warned concubine gu. I actually believes she truly want to mend fences with the empress, so if the emperor died the empress will not send her to be buried with him. Or am I wrong and she truly thinks she could get away with poisoning the empress. It's more likely it's just a coincidence since I'm suspicious about the menu you yi fan told su yue hua to prepare for the emperor since she's responsible for the emperor's meals.

The empress is such a strong woman, she was able to keeps secret the emperor's death to protect the throne for her son. Zhanji is such a strategist, he was able to escape from the assassins send to kill him, and turn things around and surprise his uncles ^^

What a cruel tradition, those women who are supposed to be buried with the emperor after he died, what a sad life for them.

Zhanji is a cat person, I also love cat. Even when he's away, he knows how to romance his wife ^^ hiding so many drawings in different places for her to find, zi Jin treasures them because it's drawn by him, their relationship is so touching being newly married they both think for each other ^^ Zi Jin was able to get along with those concubines of zhan ji, she is really good at making friends, the only one who doesn't likes her and is the odd one out of zhan ji's women is that one girl who zhan ji keeps avoiding because of her smell, is she as simple as she looks. That painting she ruined looks like it was done on purpose. The music and dance for the empress's birthday is so beautiful, zi Jin is so talented. Her gentleness and the way she deal with zhan ji's other concubines reminds me of the first empress from yanxi palace, zi Jin is so much stronger though ^^

Is the casts official, gao han and he Feng tian are in so many dramas with xukai, are they in the same company?
