But seeing him from the trailer of Kunning Palace, which is a contrast of all those previous types kinda makes me believe he'll be able to pull off Sang Yan. And yeah I agree, Sang Yan, is a character who'd be best portrayed by actors like Yang Yang, Xiao Zhan etc but they'll be the most unlikely to be in it so, we will have to bet on the post 95 liners. Hou Minghao is a GREAT actor who's not necessarily new, so I'd be over the moon if they were to cast him. He'll be the best one to choose among the many I mentioned.

I need PERFECT casting for First Frost to bring the pages to screen. Hopefully, Wajijwa will pull off a smart move just like Hidden Love & NOT cast newbies. "All Changge does is cause trouble and let people die" - you actually did not understand the story & the actions & thought processes & what led to what at all, I'm afraid, that explains why you were bored. I'd recommend you to explore the depth of the layered characters, you'll enjoy it that way, that's what makes it an intelligent & intriguing series. People are really very quick to blame the female lead everywhere, whether they're strong, weak, intelligent, foolish, naive or mature.
This is literally yet another excellent adaptation after You Are My Glory for me with perfect writing, cinematography, direction, & chemistry. All staying true to the novel, word by word, scene by scene & even enhancing the ride. I thought Zhu Yi must be the screenwriter herself, like GuMan to have such a perfect adaptation but I see a different writer listed. Really appreciate novels being adapted amazingly like this without changing, which is rare.

The type of character that Xie Jing Xing is, they can easily write both the ML & FL parts with equal highlights to adapt to drama. Wu Lei, in my opinion, is a perfect choice, in this regard. In the novel, even though it was supposed to be female-centric, I always felt severe lacking of exploration of such a high caliber & layered character like XJX, I felt the need of more POVs from him & more scenarios of his war, strategies, tactics & endeavors, missions & ventures. If drama can do that, I hope the drama DOES that, it'll be marvelous. Not to mention, if they cast either Wu Lei or Chen Feiyu, the production & writing will definitely have to increase XJX's POVs & highlights. Because both are more famous than either Jiang Yi Yi or Song Zuer at the moment.
