why wouldnt she take this role ? and whats wrong with ML ?
haha, considering them platonic because of no intimacy isn't something I can though, because there's always the sparks/feelings/actions that distinctly define & entitle them as romantic. I just consider intimacy as a bonus tbh, I'm more captured by relationships that portray intense emotions through their actions for each other., which costume dramas portray the best! The ones with intimacy I enjoyed ofc has this factor more. You are my glory is one of all time favorite in modern romance genre too! I haven't watched the other two you mentioned yet.
They never released Allen's version of the "Mermaid Song". I need it!! Its so beautifully sung, harboring Chang Yi's emotions & trajectories :') They better release it or else I'll feel robbed :')

For me, I can accept both. I can do without real intimate kiss scenes, can feel intense oozing chemistry if its there & indulge myself in it, the feelings & atmosphere leading up to their space entices me more, but ofc if there are intimate scenes, it can also be a bonus sometimes, not always though. For example I can go with a beautiful romance portrayed without intimacy but not a trashy romance with heavy intimacy.

Actor's choices on doing/not doing any of level of intimacy should be regarded with respect in my opinion.
Also, although personally I do like Xu Kai, Deng Lun & Steven Zhang but the impression left on me by Allen is completely different from what they did. And neither can I imagine anyone else replacing Allen in his scenes either. Each delivers uniquely & distinctly.
He's my vote for her most handsome costar in a drama with Reba. Even more handsome than YY imo.
LOL Vengo has a girlfriend. Even then his shipper fans go around spreading how Dilraba is engaged to him & blah blah lmao. Besides he was the one commenting on Dilraba being heavy even being such a huge man so his height is of no use....Dilraba deserves the best man in the world, better than him at least :'3

Just to correct you, all kinds of dating rumors are just rumors. Its only valid if Dilraba herself says so & she announced she's single, so there's no use in assuming she's dating anyone unless she herself declares. She has like 100s of ships for every costar she paired up with calling out hintsof timestamps, matching outfits & photos dug out, those are just shippers lol

Name a few who can portray emotions so amorously just through eyes alone. That's what I consider the most important criteria for all kinds of emotion portrayal, specially romantic. I haven't come across even a few actors who can deliver those affectionate & amorous gazes he did in TBW to melt my heart. What he should do is his choice, just as what you should watch is yours, we aren't really entitled to decide for him to take other kinds of genres. Not to mention, we'd miss out on such amazing delivery of romance even without intimacy, if he ever stopped doing.
My tears & snot mixed together for the very first time watching the whole scene from Yunhe giving up her life…
I am holding back all worries until I'm done watching. But in my opinion a 30 ep length for part2 would be a perfection. 1st 10 eps leading up to Yunhe's death, 2nd 10 eps with Aji's adventures & explorations & encounters & getting back memories, last 10 eps leading to their reunited free & happy time together, leading up to Chang Yi's death & last battle. But let's see, if we get all that's being teased, no worries.
My tears & snot mixed together for the very first time watching the whole scene from Yunhe giving up her life…
That dress yeah, initially I thought that would be for an epic battle scene or something!
But in the trailer, Yunhe was crying & saying things about losing someone after finding them hurts the heart too much, so I think ChangYi on the verge of dying will be included.
OMG... They look so good together, I would have wanted them together.... but the way LHQ showered so much parent…
But you're missing a bigger point here, although LHQ loves & protects Yunhe but from the perspective of romantic trajectory, his relationship is would be considered more toxic with Yunhe because she had been used to train him since her childhood & he went along with his father's arrangement even if he only had that option left to really protect her from greater harm. Not only that he also used Chang Yi's feelings for Yunhe to protect her twice, once with the antidote, he made him give up his tail, again in the cliff, he directed Chang Yi to go save Yunhe. Whatever great intention he harbored towards Yunhe, he was forcing things on her in reality which harmed her emotionally & also physically. Besides he also chose to pursue the case of love relationship between her & jiaoren hearing from Siyu to get Xue San Yue on his side. For all the toxicity they had before, he found his redemption from saving her & freeing her finally, but this would be the most toxic dynamic if it were a romantic ship instead of just a platonic sibling/parental ship to Yunhe. Also, about the fact of Yunhe forcing decisions on ChangYi for right reasons, none of what they did was right to them, but that's what they heeded as the most suitable option under their circumstances. It was not because Yunhe didn't trust Chang Yi that she didn't work together with him but it was because she knew he would give up everything when it came to her that she decided to keep him in the dark & leave him out, but rather chose to protect him on her own even if it cost her his lifelong hatred or her loss of freedom. Because she was also ready to give up everything for Chang Yi. She already confirmed this fact from many instances including ChangYi giving his power to relieve her from poison during sleep, Chang Yi giving up his jiaoren tail for her, and Chang Yi kneeling to Shunde to stop her from getting whipped & agreeing to serve under Shunde to free Yunhe from her wrath. LHQ during this time also had Chang Yi in mind to sacrifice to protect Yunhe, but here's the major difference between the trajectory of Yunhe & Haoqing, they just never intended the same thing to begin with, never had the same kind of principles. LHQ would use others as sacrifice to save who he wants ( just as his father trained him to ) but Yunhe would rather sacrifice herself than sacrificing others in order to protect/save who she wants. This is a trait of Yunhe even LHQ himself is envious of. And this is also the reason why his love can only be one-sided. On the other hand, Chang Yi's development of feelings for Yunhe was very apparent & obvious throughout the whole drama. He never held back his feelings, pure, honest & sincere, with no calculations. On the contrary, LHQ portrayed suppressed & tormented one-sided feelings which were complicated to begin with, which also might be the reason people might find it easier/attractive to empathize LHQ. This is my whole point watching the drama only. Novel hits different since LHQ is different there, also Chang Yi & Yunhe's progress of emotions were also different.
