Ahh I completely disagree. This is one of the best family dramas out there.
In general a majority of women don't find emotional men attractive. It's evolutionarily wired in humans, mainly because lacking the ability to control you're emotions doesn't mix well with the production of high testosterone. You will need basic understanding of cultural-anthropology and evolutionary- psychology to to deeper into this. But in summary since the dawn of humans men have had to control there emotions e.g. fear to protect the community, anger so as not to harm loved ones, anticipation so there can perform tedious tasks like inventing things, etc........... I could go on but I already sound like I'm giving a lecture. Men & Women's attraction triggers have not changed much in the last 500 years. Ergo overly emotional men not sexy, emotional women cute.
The beauty of this is watching the FL blossom like a rose that was finally getting watered and nourished regularly, while SML withered like a tree transplanted to a desert, quite satisfying.

I like to view comments of people I don’t know with a tad bit of good faith and taking them at face value unless proven otherwise. Off all the attributes you listed “Emotional” is the only trait I would “In General” confer to women, albeit in a positive way, because being more in unanimity with one’s emotions is requisite for nurturing and it makes women more socially savvy than men “In General”
why did she do a sadomacho drama my quinyun and lu zhuiyan bone corriding prison marriage and that drama also…
Some egotistical and pretty actresses mistakenly try to blaze a new trail and they invariably end up in the trash heap of mediocrity. The only time test path to sustained success is to play likable characters first and then experiment after.
Pretty good take on it. It’s been a long time since I watched it but it was one of the first k dramas I watched…
I think Pure 19 is hard to find in good quality video, I will look into Daring Women.
Yoona has done a great job managing her career, she understands that playing likable characters increases your star power. Some actresses don’t seem to realize this. Looking at the AAA List actresses like Jun Ji Hun, Han Hyo Joo, Song Hye Kyo, Park Shin Hye, etc.. they cemented their careers with likable roles before experimenting.

This is the best version, because, 1)It had more characters and each played an important role, even the cafe attendants. 2)The ML had a balanced approach with the push/pull of building attraction. 3)Both Leads came from good families. 4)Both Leads spoiled each other. 5)They didn’t over use the creepy toxic female antagonists (with the creepy 2 hand arm grab thing these dramas use, it’s quite irritating to see). 6)Limited out off touch relatives (CDramas need to tone this down a smidge)
If they had a pregnancy it would have made it aa 11 out of 10.

A female being feminine & a male being masculine are positive, by contrast a male being feminine & a female male being masculine is not in my humble opinion a positive.

I also tried submitting some actresses, actors & dramas to MDL, Its my first time so I'm not quite sure how that works
