Started well but fizzled. I came in for KKY actually and he was doing well with what he got. Never understood his undying love for the FL, thought he could do better. Heck, even the traitor seemed a better fit. Based on a previous 12 episode drama, I thought these dramas were too short (because I loved THAT one and thought it could do with more episodes and that drama had no kiss but still I could feel the romance) but for this one, thank goodness it is only 12.
Lots of world building so far that my head is spinning (up to Ep 3 atm). At least I can gather who are the bad guys and who are on the brotherhood side.
At this point, I am shouting 'You go girl, Na Ah Jeong' She is full of integrity and that last scene in Ep 2, I felt her anger and pain. Ji Han - he does seem to have a 'hyung' complex for now and doesn't realise what he thinks is happiness for his hyung is actually a living hell for Do Han. Looking forward to the next episodes. I haven't read the webtoon but I do get the vibe that the SFL likes Ji Han.
This is going on my keepers list. Even though it supposedly lacks romance, the interactions of the two leads are heart fluttering. I will miss those epilogues.
Honestly, I prefer a well planned revenge than to go in with guns blazing. They are up against Lord Seok who is a crafty strategist who has placed his pawns in order to use them even 15 years later. I can see why Lady Oh and Pil Jik fears him as he has accumulated a lot of power without leaving an incriminating trail. The most positive thing I saw is that his son returned and that was an unplanned event. I do believe he was sending Yeo Hwa to her death as it would be easy to kill her at her husband's 'grave' and cover it up as 'a grieving widow who killed herself to be with her husband' When watching period pieces, it is difficult to put asides our modern biases and expect people of that time to act like they are in 2024. But piety, respect for elders (even if they are evil) was a custom during Joseon times and I dare say this as an Asian, still relevant today. Yeo Hwa has the right to feel betrayed, by the man she viewed as a father for 15 years but at this point, she doesn't know the extent to which he was involved in her brother's disappearance. I think the secret is in the sword - and if they can find Lord Seok with the late king's seal (?) / jade tablet (?) , that will seal his fate.
Yup. So far so good. It may only be another three episodes but I expect things will escalate quite quickly especially after what Pil Jik did. I am also interested in how they will wrap up Yeo Hwa's story if her father in law is charged with treason. The three generations put to death is real (and many other dramas have shown/stated this too) and it is inclusive of all the maids and helpers too (if I am not mistaken). Yes. Those were brutal times.
The moment that new recruit stepped in. My radar went on alert. Not sure if the team is being purposefully oblivious or they are really not that smart. Losing steam for me at the moment...
I think it will be an interesting final 4 episodes. Regarding her husband 'lunatic Joo' - I don't think he will cause harm to our OTP (but if there were another 10 episodes, it could be another story). He didn't know he was 'dead' and he didn't know he was married and left a widow. All this falls on his father. His mother really thought he was dead as well. I like how the three of them (King, Scholar and Guard) are joining hands again and I hope they don't share the same fate as their predecessors. As we watch the drama, we need to be aware of the time this drama is set in. How widows are treated, and class differences are emphasised (servant, noble) was how they were really treated. So the drama essentially highlights the injustices against widows, women in general. In addition, technically, if members of the opposite sex are unknown to each other, they shouldn't actually have been able to speak to one another directly (yet, Madam Jang keeps leaving our couple alone together. Most likely she knows they would not get up to anything naughty. HAHA.)
After 2 episodes I am on board! I suppose there will be the cases interspersed among the main story arc which is about her slimy ex-husband and despicable mother in law. Kang Ki Young as Dong Ki Joon can be male lead material and I am looking forward to his working together with Kim Sa Ra.
PSA: There is an option to block a user so that you don't have to see their comments. I rather do that than to engage with the post. Moving on to the drama - at this point, I just want to see how it will all end. And angst doesn't last for long. Qing should realise that the story now has a life of its own because of her existence, she has changed the plot.
PS. You know where the story is going, but you will still cry.

At this moment, I love Lee Do Han more! Even though I know this leads to heartbreak...
Director-nim - where is the epilogue?
At least release it online (if there is one).

Him returning from the dead has put his father in a difficult position.

They were not totally naked....
