He was the surprise for me as the Big Bad. I was eyeing Da Jun as someone who may stab HZY in the back but glad it didn't happen. I felt that HZY and Da Jun has more chemistry than Sheng Hao and Ji Rong! HAHAHAHA.
Who knew that the SL was the ML himself! 2021 vs 2022 HZY. I also think now that Jirong's situation did spark off the romance between the two leads. If not, they would have blissfully gone on with their lives and if what happened to CJL really happened later on, HZY would have felt nothing.
I think the jarring point for me was the noble idiocy which occurred Ep 20(?) And yes, I agree that Jirong brought nothing to this drama. I felt like she was a red herring but then if HZY did not try to save her, there would be no story at all. Death will always want to claim their right, if it is not Jirong, there has to be a replacement. Makes me wonder why Death didn't want An Wen, her brother.
I have to thank Strange Tales from the Tang Dynasty which pushed me to watch this drama. I love Xiang Han Zi and got to know the male lead from Strange Tales. I went in without much expectations and expected a horrible bad ending but surprise! Will keep an eye out for their future projects.
Still enjoying this drama so far. Have yet to watch Ep 15 onwards and may binge this weekend. I think it will go down the same or similar route as Romance of Tiger and Rose at the end. Sometimes there is no logic in dramas and it's good to watch with an empty, non-analytic mind. LOL. Although I would agree that the same individual from different timelines should never meet.
Decided to continue with this drama! Drama Gods be kind and make this good til the end! Looking forward to discussions with everyone. I suspect that JL is in a coma in 2022. Watch the opening to the drama and you will catch a glimpse of (2021) ZY visiting her in hospital (kissed her on forehead) and then disappearing. Not a spoiler because this is just my suspicion. Heh.
Understated gem. Glad I picked it up as I was looking for a detective genre drama and it passed my first 4 episode tryout! Would gladly follow Season 2 if they kept the stories as interesting as the ones from this season. The one that was creepy and sad at the same time was the arc about the Gantang post. PS. Yes, I think we know who was the ultimate mastermind at the end.....
Love this. Pan Er is quick-witted and also has her moments of vulnerability. It's great she has her sisters with her. As for Qian Fan, a good match for her. I am just thinking that his family ties will become a big problem later. Again a lot of politicking happening behind the scenes. I am not sure about Ouyang Xu yet. Plus I see San Niang has a loveline. What about Yin Zhang (and please drama gods...no love triangles or squares)
I wish it has 50 episodes🤣🤣 40 too short for their story 🥺
LOL. I think they would add more palace intrigue than sweet moments with the couple. I am waiting for BFX story. How she joined the sect and who else knows her identity. I believe it will be in the next arc when the pressure is on for the ML to marry.

I love Park Bo Gum/Choi Taek but I was rooting for Ryu Jun Yeol /Jung Hwan .........
