Agree with a review that basically says this was fun but hollow. I was ticked that after people laid out why his life was the way it was he still blamed his whole life falling apart on one scandal....like bro...

I watched because I think Deng Kai is a cutie patootie and wanted to see more of his work! He did great and the FL has a gorgeous smile. obviously low budget and not a new story but it was quick and fun.

Super basic idol drama literally just exists to try to give you swoon moments. (*not super successfully*)

Also for some reason their jpop vibe felt like from 20 years ago.

I had some problems with pacing but overall a really solid drama! I liked they showed a bit more explicitly the gore of murders or autopsies.

The ML had one of the best love confessions ever IMO!

Not as bad as feared. Simply mid. Watch between heavy shows for something you don’t have to care about and just enjoy the silliness.

It was available on Viki for me in the US. Not sure about your area?

Perfect change of pace show for me. Unserious fun! They did a great job making a manga/anime come to life. I could absolutely picture some manga panels in my head.

Sometimes things weren't said or discussed how I would have liked. But it was fun getting to know all the characters and I loved how the main couple were such crybabies together ❤️

For some reason, the way the humor hits and the talk of archetypes makes me think of Ouran Host Club vibes. Which I'm here for!

First time I tried this I dropped it episode 1. But lately I've been looking for silly, fun shows and Viki was recommending it. So I gave it a new try and it hit the spot.

Proof that sometimes you need to be in the right space to watch something.

Pacing and story really suffered in second half.

ML gave some of the sweetest looks to FL and I would like to see him as a lead in more things.

I liked the friendship of the FL and 2FL.

Zhang Wan Yi got to be even more love dovey than his recent stuff so I liked that!

The FL however... I'm not sure if it was the actress or director (*probably both*) but I felt she lacked subtlety. She was clever and demure during regular times but any time she was riled up she jumped to full on yelling. I felt there could have been a better way of laying out why she was fighting for justice with all her logic and evidence and escalate to yelling. When you jump right to yelling I dont blame people for being like "why is our sweet girl a harpy? I have done nothing to deserve this?!"

I hope that made sense.

Anywho, totally fine show but nothing fresh or unique to stand out.
