I was a bit apprehensive, but this turned out to be SO GOOD. The action, the CGI, the plotlines, the character development, they were all so good and well thought out. For me it started a bit meh due to change of FML, but the chemistry between her an ML was so good it was the whole periodic table, and after episode 2 I was already sold. I was also super happy about my boyo ML's (well deserved) ending.
I mean this drama has everything I like: hot CEO, interesting family dynamics, hot green flag 2ML, cute vibes. Unfortunately the production value, or rather lack thereof, is what makes this drama a barely seasoned chicken. I swear I saw high school video projects that were made with better quality. also if we cut out all the flashbacks to the scenes that WE'VE ALREADY SEEN, this drama would have been 7ep long instead of 14. and don't get me started on 5 minutes long epilogues that bring nothing to the table as they're screen that we've already seen + 5 seconds extra content
This was absolutely fun and charming, exactly what I expected. It's surprisingly heavy on suicide issues and on extreme pressure that's being put not only on students but teachers, but somehow it works. The chemistry between ML and FML is great and I loved the background characters as well. 2ML is way hotter than ML which was confusing since ML was super conceited and was constantly telling 2ML "Im smarter and hotter than you". Like, my dude, my bro, no.
Unfortunately this was a bit of a flop for me. the execution was lacking, the acting mediocre. The character building was very shallow. I've seen other mini dramas that had way better characterbuilding and development so the length cannot be an excuse. Also the actors who were 30 and 26 at the time of making this looked 40 and 14 respectively which is not their fault but it gave me the ick.
Oh i just wanted to ask if the series is too sad, especially in terms of the illness and saw your comment. So…
if you're not in a good mental place for watching a show on terminal illness, id really recommend putting it off for a bit. it's a great drama (I gave it 10) and it has a happy ending, but getting to that happy ending is a path of tears ;)
Sometimes, the first episode or two are more for setup and background / history needed to tell the story. Maybe…
definitely depends on what you're looking for. I was in a mood for a fun enemies to lovers office romance and this is exactly what i got. it's also very heavy on suicide topic and on pressure to always be the best, but somehow it works there and i enjoyed it

same here! btw, funnily enough I'm watching "crazy love" rn which also takes place in private academia setting. It's a romcom but some of the issues are definitely the same

im definitely not planning to drop (yet, lol) as Im more than excited to see Wi Ha Jun as a ML in a rom drama, but it's just a struggle for me as I'm totally not familiar with the educatiom system in SK (i just had a vague idea based on dramas ive seen before😂)
this drama would have been so interesting to me if i unerstood the academics stuff. i was so excited for this but unfortunately first two eps were frankly a bit boring to me bc there was so much stress on exams, questions, weird rivaly between schools and academies, and it all just flew over my head
Ok, i admit it, the production value wasn't that high at times, and it sometimes looked like it was made as someone's school project, but overall the story was super cute, the acting was good and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And that's what I needed and expected.
