Thank you for this! ^^ I had no doubt about Yunxi's acting skills. He has it all. I just want to watch it now so I can be amazed myself. The CGI is one of the things I look forward to seeing the most especially since a lot of magic and demonic beasts are present. <3
OMG apparently there's a Sina Weibo event right after the Douyin one. I was NOT expecting there'd be more. I thought that was it! WE ARE SO WELL FED TODAY!!! ToT
It's basically an immortal/demon, enemies-to-lovers story where an immortal cultivator Li Susu (fl) travels back…
She did not seduce him. But she has something that makes people love her (two strings of affection) and Xiao Lin (SML) wasn't immune to that. He doesn't love fl per se but he may have had growing feelings for her. Still he is an honorable man and a married one at that so he never let those feelings take root. He respects fl a lot though and even saved her life.
They don't have a happy end. Only fl and ml do.
Yes! First life mortal. Two others are in the immortal realm :)
Bai Lu excelled in The Legends. She was awesome! I hope she will be able to bring the character in this series…
Yes! I second yang_er. Both of the leads have the acting chops to pull of these complex characters. Luo Yunxi's breakthrough role was as Run Yu in Ashes of Love and he pulled off the intensity of the character really well. Definitely recommend you to watch that when you can!
Tantai Jin is a very nuanced character with a lot of layers and with Yunxi's portrayal of Run Yu, I have no doubt he can give justice to the role. <3
Can someone spoil the story for me.. i read chapter 1 but english translation isn't smooth so don't really want…
It's basically an immortal/demon, enemies-to-lovers story where an immortal cultivator Li Susu (fl) travels back in time to defeat the Devil God Tantai Jin (ml) before he can destroy the world. She becomes the mortal Ye Xiwu who happens to be Tantai Jin's wife. They fall in love but their different backgrounds and personal convictions get in the way of their love and this leads to a whoooole lot of angst (like a LOT lot) in all three of their lives. (Hence why the leads play three characters.) It has both a happy end and a bad end but I'm hoping the drama chooses the happy ending cause the bad ending is waaay too sad. ToT
It's not the same as Scarlet Heart Ryeo. If anything is is much, much angstier. 3
Hi there! You might've read the mtl version. There's a really good fan translation that's still ongoing. That's…
You're welcome! ^^ There are 139 chapters in all (8 of those are side stories). 74 chapters are already translated at the moment so it's more than halfway through! <3
I haven't been able to sleep properly since melons of the drama airing soon came out. And tomorrow we're gonna get the trailer. THE LONG WAIT IS FINALLY OVER!! ToT
I'm pretty optimistic they can bring justice to the novel. Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi both have the visuals and the acting skills for it. LET'S GOOO. <333
I won't call it loveline, I think it's a device for the writer to change the tables of the story, I bet her father…
Hmm that's a good point too. I just wish it wouldn't detract too much from the story. The focal point truly is the queen and how she handles the political machinations in the palace all while protecting her family. It also seems like it would be one-sided. And the comedic moments are great too. Anyway, I'll keep watching to get more answers! ^^
With every new episode, my admiration for the Queen grows. What an absolute badass and the best Queen I've seen in a sageuk thus far! She's smart, witty, pragmatic but also honest, warm-hearted and has integrity. I LOVE HER. <3
Also it might just be me, but personally I think the loveline was quite unnecessary. I don't really feel like Seognam and Cheong Ha have that much chemistry. Even if there wasn't a loveline, the drama would still be amazing. :(
I knew it was a slim chance the Crown Prince would die but dang ep 5 HURT like hell. What hurts even more is he never even got to say goodbye, not to his Mom, his brothers, his wife or his children. He died basically ALONE, with no one to hear his last words. AAAAA. The final painful knife in the heart was the Queen's guttural wail of anguish upon seeing her son dead. I couldn't stop crying. This drama is a MASTERPIECE. ToT
The dinner 🍽️ somehow scared me, it was like the last sweet moments before storm
Ngl despite the laughter and the smiles around the table, it came off very much like a Last Supper to me. It's so sad. They just want to be safe and happy. :(

I wouldn't put it past him to be the one to come up with the scheme. He could've easily bribed a eunuch or a court lady to do it. ToT I can't really say much about the king rn. So far, he seems to be a competent ruler though he comes off as naïve towards his ministers' ambitions. I guess we'll see more in the coming episodes. Hopefully knowing about the Crown Prince's situation in the next episode will open his eyes about the conspiracies in the palace so he can do something about it. :(

Right? It's super suspicious! Couldn't have been the medicine cause it worked. My guess is it could've been the Queen Dowager, the Head Concubine or the Head Concubine's father. :(
Episode 4 ended on such a shocking and emotional scene. I knew I shouldn't have had my hopes up when things started to turn better. I really hope the Crown Prince doesn't die! I'm so attached to his character now. ToT
PS. That dinner scene between the Queen and the Grand Princes was so sweet. You can really see that her sons are the Queen's whole world. <3

Here is a clip of him in the role and one of my most favorite Run Yu scenes.
