Can someone tell me about the romance part? I don't enjoy romance, so can I ignore it? I don't mind spoilers.
Romance isn’t the focus! The main character Pang has a crush but it doesn’t really develop. There is one established couple that we know is dating but their relationship isn’t the focus of their story either. There’s also one unrequited love storyline that becomes the premise of conflict but it’s only discussed for 1 ep.

Love is sweet is such a good intro to them! I did it backwards (tteotm than lis) but I can see myself being super into it even if I wasn't already obsessed with YunLu. Also what's considered a republicans adaptation? Is that just a period drama or?

that's actually true. Or some will be ok with all these darker themes but if there's not enough fluff then "there's no point" or "it isn't good enough".

Fav CP- TTJxLSS and Lan Wangji x Wei Wuxian. (My ghost ship is YXW x Pian Ran LOL) 9. Fav 2nd Male Character- no one. I tend to like the more “minor” characters like Nian Baiyu, Wen Ning (ghost general) from the Untamed, Ye Bai yi in word of honor, or Zong Li (yang yang’s bodyguard) in who rules the world
