I feel like this discussion is mostly over but I wanted to add something else to the conversation.
Nanon is a person who is serious about acting and watches movies/shows not really for entertainment but for work. He likes to analyze scenes, dialogues, acting performance, sound tracks etc and will watch movies over and over to study them. I think he gravitates to shows and movies that are critically acclaimed or generally agreed upon to be solid and well rounded bodies of work.. The bl tagged series he’s mentioned watching: Dew the movie, Itsay, and one other I’m forgetting fit those parameters. These are some of the few Thai series under the bl umbrella that handled several technical aspects well. So it could also be that there are other genres of works he prefers to use for studying because there are more of them that fit these parameters. He really seems to enjoy action/fantasy genres the best. So on some level it’s preferences. He’s also said he has a list of people in the industry he wants to work it’s and some on that list are LGBTQ+ individuals so it would be weird if he meant that statement maliciously.

Yeah I’ve definitely seen the interest in cutie pie. I think on top of having Zee, it also has a really interesting premise and the setting is appealing.. So I can see a lot of curious bl fans tuning in. It was trending with the same average number of tweets that Not me usually gets while only being ep 1. And that number was higher then bbs for ep 1.
I also see tons of interest for Between Us (Im personally HYPED for this) and KinnPorsche . It’s definitely going to be a competitive year for bl. We’re not even including the list that GMMTV has queued . I kinda feel bad for series like Enchante and Cupids last wish because the marketing for these shows suck and currently inter fans can’t even access CLW. GMMTV is dropping the ball for NotMe too.
I’m really happy that BBS found growing popularity and that Ohm and Nanon are getting praise for it, but we all know that there were several biases working against bbs from the start. I feel like GMMTV was all too aware of that. I’m glad that BBS attracted a pretty solid following from China because they really changed the game I think. The amount of money Chinese fans used for billboards and marketing in Thailand is insane.

You are so right.. I actually forgot about that incident.. I’m so glad it didn’t go down the same way. I like that it was ignored.. I didn’t see any good way to address it without bringing more publicity and speculation
