Seriously I would say it deserves a 10 but given not all can comprehend such shows atleast collectively it easily…
I wonder if it found it's right audience elsewhere & how it was received in Thailand. So many here on MDL are inclined to watch per their expectations and get upset when a series does something different.
Did anyone else notice the use of the divider in In's room that pretty much symbolized how lines can become a…
And then when Wang bridges the screen, the use of the line in the window to mark both movement towards and division. If you rewatch, look for that and when it appears.

adrien linked to the English subs in another comment, just double checked that it's working https://vipa.me/th/?slug=thedeathofkhunphra Going through the thaipbs site doesn't bring up Eng subs any more, we have to look via vipa.me. I watched it last month, can confirm that it's fully subbed and available.
Ahhh it's fiat's main roleðŸ˜I will definitely watch this if it's available anywhere with eng subs
Have you come back to find the link to the subs yet? Fiat's character is a lot of fun. I really liked the quiet intensity he showed in The Gifted and Triage, and this is certainly not that, but still main role for Fiat :)
Have been thinking about this, especially in light of comments. I wonder if Thais perhaps have a different relationship to 'predictable' than some of us from other countries do - look at the number of Mae/Nang Nak adaptations they produce, let alone lakorn remakes - and the story behind DW was widely circulated. Would love to hear from Thais on this. Also what (I think) is an emphasis on getting the emotions right. Like this movie works because it's more about the phi-nong than the possession. Thoughts from others? This is just me trying to understand Thai movies etc better and why they so often work for me.
They've accepted my changes to the tags and the addition of Psychological to genre but not the removal of Romance. It doesn't fit MDL's criteria for the genre, and of course LGBTQ, Lesbian Character in the tags + Romance in genre is the only way we have to search for GL on the site. If that's what you require, this isn't it. Please note that all reviews & comments before June '25 were written while it was erroneously tagged Lesbian Romance & Lesbian Relationship.
It probably won't satisfy desires for het Romance either.
This is a fantastic lakorn but it does need to be watched for what it is. Please look for my review if this interests you.
Did all the things I like in Thai comedy horror and made the shifts well. First hour + is more about exploring the daft wee world they've created than developing a grand plot. They kept the nonsense moving without being rushed before bringing it altogether.
ML with some serious anger management issues, forgiven of course. Arrgh.
The way he beats the shit out of his umbrella, big red flag. Oh let's make a joke out of it and laugh it off and wasn't it romantic the way she waited in the rain for him. Marital rape. To prove that he's a man. Yeah, it showed that he was all kinds of upset, but the caning he gave the kid. Super yikes. And it's all so romantic he's worth dying for. %(*$£ to that and the male-gaze misogyny and homophobia it rode in on. Acting was good. They made drama out of a man who can't control his emotions. Yippee.
This isn't GL, lesbian romance, lesbian relationship, sapphic or even a love triangle, let alone a romance. It is a powerful psychological lakorn about trauma and abuse, sexism, controlling parents, control and abuse in other family/non-family relationships, and how the wealthy are able to use money, power and position to skirt the law.
A stunning monologue near the end tells us why Rangrong couldn't have been written as a male character, even if that would be more palatable to many.
The current tags and even 'romance' as a genre classification are misleading in their focus. It's going to take me a while to try to figure out better ones and go back through it all to compile timestamps and evidence to see if I can get more added. Staff here don't make that easy. Until then, this will have to do.
I read a comment below that FL started dating SML from ep 15, what was the reason, she likes both ML and SML?
It is a rare and special series. What you speak of is less last minute and more integrated into larger themes about learning to value oneself, imperfections and all. The last 4-5 episodes lose some of the gracefulness of the first 2/3rds as they go in for lakorn and symbolism but it's still an excellent series.

tl:dr This isn't GL.
