Different actors, directors, screenwriters, networks, production companies - it this better considered as an entirely separate adaptation of a novel rather than a 'spinoff' and Tonhon Chonlatee as it's 'parent story'?

Nothing on this page prepared me for such a clear critique of toxic masculinity in several forms including homophobia, wrapped in laugh out loud comedy which gently or boldly calls out bad behaviour time after time, wrapped in lakorn which continues the call outs. There's so much to love about this series.

Sorry for two, but this part needs a spoiler. The ending was odd but then I realised the boys were going off to another country together and they'd be able to grow their relationship away from Tee's family and everything else, including the traumatic scandal which followed their kiss in the snow village. First kiss and then that? The poor boys. So I'm alright with the ending after all even if it could have been better written.

He wouldn't have done his scenes in Only Friends if that were true. I think it's more likely that he's willing to take on very different characters who don't fit the norms.
Keep in mind that CYMB aired back in 2018. Drake was 17. He and Thai BL were both very young.

Same. I don't see how it can compare to his work in The Warp Effect or The Shipper. Would really like for Fluke to get more main roles of that calibre. I fear this one will make me grumpy that his skill is being wasted.

Pun has that mullet in the scene at the end with the kid, the one where he says he'll wait so it's a flashback to Yoh's (this lifetime) childhood and their promises to wait/grow up tall.

I caught "faen" used in that section, which isn't gendered. June could mean girlfriend and her mum could mean boyfriend with it. I didn't pick up the word translated as son.

i'm just going to pretend the last two episodes don't exist so i can continue attributing all of Theo's shortcomings to poor writing/directing. loved green flag Akk though, far better casting for Force than the posh boy playboy BS they made him do in Only Friends.

Nanon plays almost entirely het characters. BB is his only main role BL that's a full series. Our Skyy 2 is fan service and his role in ViceVersa is well used to give emotional impact but is more like an extended cameo. Pran is outsized in the minds of international BL-orientated fans but doesn't reflect Nanon's body of work. Similar for Chimon. Ohm Pawat does both.

Slice of life youth drama with a raw vibrancy that shines through, especially as it explores emotions and vulnerability in the second half.

I read it as an unrequited teenage crush on an older man in the first series, and one mostly thrown in for fan service. Ajin clearly had someone else on his mind.

I think it's just because he decides to. When he decided to sleep somewhere different in the earlier episodes, that decision took him to a different time. The week he just looked at his calendar, circled some dates and decided on a week.

This was so lovely. I'll be watching it again.

English is my first language and I initially felt like there must be so much I was missing because I don't know the history. But as it went on, it was clearer and clearer that the movie just skipped from one plot point to the next.
So my opinion is that it isn't either of you. It's the screen writing and directing.
