I was like wow the stakes are high with Mae's father suffering from a serious illness, I feel for the both of them. He wants to see his baby stand on her own before he has to go and Mae is going to be fighting tooth and nail for the bid so her poor father can pass in peace. I'm over here about to tear up and I find out he was mostly faking it like BRUH 😭

I bumped up my rating for the movie because I like the ending now that I understand it better 😭🙌

I think that would make them half siblings if they had different moms but same dad lol. I literally went through the drama thinking "they're full blooded siblings" to "I think they're half siblings" to "maybe He Yan is adopted?" to "WHAT? NO BLOOD RELATION AT ALL? HOW?" 😂

If He Yan and He Ru Fei are step siblings with no blood relation, does that mean one of them is adopted or that their parents had children with other people before remarriage? I'm guessing He Yan is the daughter of Madam He who remarried He Ru Fei's father?

Mae being drugged before makes it so much worse 😭 If they want a red flag character, they could adapt a novel that intended that rather than altering a novel of green flag characters into red ones. I get they want more drama but they still could have that without altering their characterization in this direction. We need more green flag couples in the GL community and I wish Harmony Secret could have been an addition to that

I didn't see it coming whatsoever. When Mae fell asleep suddenly, I just thought she was overworked or pretending lol. Ai drugging Mae never came to mind so when it was revealed that's what it was, I was legit mind blown

I absolutely agree with your points. Mae's most defining characteristic imo was her integrity and Aiwarin admired her for staying true to her morals despite how dirty the business world is. They totally took that away in the drama. They feel more like rivals but their relationship is more shallow now because they're speedrunning their relationship. How is Ai already at the "let's live together" stage? Like, at this point in the story, what do they see in each other besides confidence and a pretty face? ( Though I suppose her already liking Mae since university helps which is a good change and counter argument to my point). In the novel, they gradually got to know one another though the little things and part of what draws them to each other is Mae's integrity and Ai's chivalry---which wasn't being canceled out by non-consensual acts. They should have had the getting-to-know-each-other date in the upcoming episode before they reach the point of Ai wanting to live together or wanting to build something more. They act like they have something deep and aren't just using each other for info but they really don't. Their relationship feels more carnal than anything. There is no way they have an actual connection when they barely know each other, yet Ai here is acting like Mae is her whole world. And don't even get me started on how Ai is going to get away with drugging someone without consequence, like WHAT

Nah there is definitely something off with the pacing, they barely know each other and Ai is already asking for Mae to live with her lol. I feel like I'm watching an alternate universe of the novel with these changes in personality of all the characters. The drugging totally surprised me

The elevator scene was so funny 😂 Mae was fighting for her life not to smile thinking Ai wouldn't be able to pull anything when that man joined them but Ai did it anyway
