@Precious don't get me wrong. it's actually very fun and enjoyable. I just feel like it's trying to tackle some serious themes too, but does know when to put aside the comedy. but I'll keep watching.

i took Mr Queen quite seriously, and the premise is almost as ridiculous. it's a matter of strong writing. Mr Queen took time to reveal things instead of shoving random expositions and flashbacks in our faces from episode 1. if if bon appetit your majesty didn't intend to be taken seriously, it wouldnt be dealing with such serious themes.

jaewook really needs better scripts. this is the second miss after the impossible heir
his character was fine and his acting was superb. the rest of the show was pretty bad

Title Last Summer
Dear Hong Rang was a 10/10 work of art.
Hongrang fell in love with her cos he was horny. thr acting was good, although i felt jo boah didn't have chemistry with any of the other characters, and her facial expressions were always the same in similar situations. Jae Yi just wasn't firm; that's the last word I'd use to describe her character. she fell in love with Hongrang and forgot about her brothers. maybe i wouldve been touched by ut if the writers gave me a coherent plot to follow. i don't deny that they had very touching messages and themes to portrayed, but none of them were portrayed well. Jae Yi's abuse and her self harm was barely touched upon. Hongrang was able to move on from his unresolved trauma and start a happy life. the only reason he ended up getting revenge was because he was forced back into that life. look, I'm glad that you liked the show. but it is very flawed and those flaws make it hard for anyone who's truly paying attention to enjoy it. I mean, you didn't even reply to the very valid arguments I made against it.

just goes to show you. To me it was a masterpiece about two abused and broken people who found love and healing…
I'm genuinely glad you liked it.πŸ’•

I don't know if I should watch this! The reviews are a mix of positive and negatives but I like the ML! Should…
i would personally advise you to run away. the plot is promising at first ans then descends into absurdity and foolishness

Dear Hong Rang was a 10/10 work of art.
it was definitely my type of drama. or, at least it could've been. the issues you've stated- the plot and characters - are actually really major issues, but I feel like you're undermining them. if you don't have a solid plot and characters as a show, what do you have? good music and fight scenes just aren't enough. i already reviewed the show but lemme try to summarize. the villains motives were, quite frankly, stupid. he was just another generic insane villain. none of the characters had any development whatsoever, the SML just had a complete change in character for no reason. lots of plot twists introduced in the end just for shock value, and that left the show with many plot holes. for example, if Hongrang wasn't actually their child, why did the blood test work in the first episode. also, both parents knew that the real Hongrang was a product of the wife's infidelity(that was revealed towards the end), so why didn't either of them question his blood matching with the father's blood in the first place. i dont know if you get what I'm saying, or even remember. Jae Yi was a poorly written character. she just blew wherever the plot took her. easily manipulated and never fully dedicating herself to her own motivations. she was a bandit but could never once defend herself physically??? Lee Jae wook's character claimed to have endured unforgettable childhood trauma, yet he was able to settle down and start a peaceful life with jaeyi without being haunted by his past. they doesn't seem like a traumatised individual to me. and their romance was so bland and boring. it's obvious he was just horny for her. there were lots of other issues, bigger and smaller. but essentially, dear Hongrang was just not a good show. obviously i dont expect everyone to agree with me. people watch shows for different reasons. those who prioritise visuals and vibes would absolutely love this show. but anyone who prioritises a well written plot, well rounded and motivated characters, and tight pacing and execution would easily be able to identify dear Hongrang as a show that's greatly lacking in all of those things. the only perfect thing about it was the music and atmosphere, and I understand that that's enough for some people.

I'm only watching this because Lee Jae Wook's last two dramas were terrible, and I dont think he can lead 3 shitty dramas in a row.

i like SJK, but I can't tell a lie. He was not right for this role. He's too expressionless. He's acting too much like a cool guy but that's not what this role requires. I don't see a difference between this and his Reborn Rich character except their economic situations. Im finding it hard to buy the romance.

I dont find the age gap an issue as much as i did have an issue with her "acting " the part immaturely.…
thank you. I love Goblin so much and it's partly because the two leads were so well written. and yeah, the secondary couple were great individually, but their relationship needed more fleshing out. they should've had actual conversations rather than just admiring each others beauty and asking random questions. the plot focused so much on their past lives relationship and really neglected their present relationship. oh well, that didnt prevent me from enjoying the show as a whole. you put it precisely " the logic for their relationship feels a bit forced/unnatural"
