Please do start and you can judge by yourself later.I personally think her acting is very good here.
hm. I think I will. afterall, I'm not watching anything interesting right now, and i have been interested in historical dramas. I'll take this as an opportunity to see Yoona in a positive light.
if you understood that mess of a story that Dear Hongrang was, please help me answer the following questions
1. If Lee Jae woo wasn't the real Hongrang, why did the blood match test with Hongrang's dad work? 2. If both of Hongrang's parents knew that Hongrang was not the father's child, but the child of his mother and her lover, why didn't they immediately know he was an imposter when the blood test worked? 3. Why did the Grand Prince's bodyguards allow Hongrang to approach the Grand Prince with his sword instead of taking it from him first? What did they think he was gonna do with it other than harm the Grand Prince??? 4. Why did Hongrang's illness never manifest in the middle of fights. Was it waiting for him to be out of danger 😂??? 5. Why is Jae Yi so weak and useless when she's spent years in a bandit group? 6. What exactly was the Snow man, and why wasn't Hongrang interested in finding out? 7. What ever happened to the yin and yang painting that Hongrang's father was supposed to retrieve for the Grand Prince? 8. If Kkot-nim could just walk into the Min family compound and shoot the head of the family in the face, why didn't she do that from the start? Why spend years plotting? 9. Why is Hongrang stronger than everyone else in the show when he received the same training as his comrades in the shadow organization? 10. if there were guns in Korea at the time, why is it only a random nobody that possesses one? why don't any wealthy or high ranking personalities use guns?
This and True Beauty, while wildly popular as they aired and still known for being enjoyable dramas, both got…
wow. i always thought that Start Up had an interesting group of very well-written characters. but in the comments, everyone seems to focus on the love triangle and how they didnt pike that aspect of the show. Start Up was the first kdrama i ever watched, so it'll always hold a special place in my heart. im just so glad to know that there's other people who saw the show in a largely positive light. I even liked the love triangle. being torn between past and present, and learning to move on was a very important takeaway. people also complain about dosan as a character, but I liked him a lot. the stress of dealing with pressure from our parents and people who put their faith in us is very real, and i like how he navigated that, learning to try to live for himself, rather than in constant fear of disappointing those around him. i loved ji pyeon but it made a lotta sense that she chose dosan. i just really loved this show, and id like to talk about it(and probably other shows too) more if you're up for it
i love your review. you captured everything I wanted to say. except that I think the villain(the prince) really fell flat, and the actor didnt do much to convince me of his madness and villainy.
i agree with almost everything. except the Ost was actually really good and the cast wasn't that good. only lee jae wook's and uhm ji won were really good
i couldnt have pit it better. no character arcs or development. the characters just did instant 180 switch in personality. poor romance. bad villain. plot is all over the place. this show wants to do too much all at once. the snow man plot which was supposed to be relevant was just sidelined and wrapped up very poorly
i agree. the way the snow man storyline was wrapped up was so rushed and left absolutely no impact. there were too many unnecessary characters and minor storylines. I didn't like the FL but I don't think it's entirely the actress' fault. she didn't have chemistry with the rest of the cast though
nice plot but lacks focus. disappointing romance and terrible villain. lee jae wook's charismatic screen presence is the only thing that keeps me engaged, plus the mystery that ends up disappointing.
They elope together in episode eight. At least she knows they are not related, although I don't think that would…
im just as confused. when, how and why did they fall in love??? it just sorta happened. i feel like the romance should've been cut out cos it's just so unbelievably rushed. plus, they dont have chemistry. it feels so forced
Hey, I greatly appreciate if anyone answers this questions. Who was the female lead mother? Why did she end up…
her mother was probably a concubine and her father, being financially bouyant probably took her to raise her where she wouldn't have to suffer. the madame probably hates her because she is a constant reminder of her husband's infidelity. shes naturally a wicked woman whose heart is warm only towards her son.
I haven't watched a historical kdrama, in while, unless Goblin counts as historical. I'm really excited to start Dear Hongrang today. the first 5 minutes were already so intense. I can tell I'm gonna enjoy this.
I think it’s because that’s the role they told her to play
yeah. i think she gets type cast to play those kinds of characters cos thats what shes known for. I'd like to see her at the centre of a romance though, or slice of life drama
How does a show put out such a great pilot episode, only to derail into such utter nonsense? It's so disappointing because, clearly the writers are working with a very interesting concept, but they simply don't have their priorities straight. This is a complex premise with complex themes and it deserved to be tackled in a complex light. Sadly, the whole thing is just full of jumbled up, irrelevant crap. Don't even get me started on how unrealistic the whole thing is. Honestly, I'm gonna have to drop this one because I cannot afford to get any more pissed than I already am.
