The one time sex, leading to pregnancy and the mother taking full responsibility trope needs to change. They could have easily shown a relationship, then a pregnancy. All of this would make more sense then. The love, longing and desire to be together would have been better established. That was a bummer for me. Over all I had higher expectation from the movie and was let down.
Thoughts after Ep 3: As much as I want to like this one, there are so many gaps in the plot that I am finding it difficult to sink in. First, the location. They keep on saying South Asia/Bankha, speaks Thai, gives Salam. Where is this place then? Fictional? Second, Jin-Jin's mother went back to Taiwan to get Visa renewed and found out about her husband's second family, came back, made plans to resurrect the criminal, got money from her husband all within 72 hours? Third, HY's mother, why is she so fit that she can out run law enforcement officials and catch the criminal? Of course she can be, but there was no back story given. She is shown as an insurance broker with a simple life! Fourth, when Hsin Yi' said she will come meet her dad, why didn't the mother immediately alert the police or start looking for her? We are shown even after that phone call HY was there for a very long time. What was her mother doing at that time? Fifth, why would the mothers call an ambulance after beating the criminal? Sixth, after the criminal ran away from the ambulance, why did the officials never enquired about what happened later, why didn't they return to the store? Seventh, when the criminal initially didn't want to resurrect, HY's mother pleaded for the return of her husband. Why did the Goddess not understand that she was putting up an act?!!! In that case, shouldn't it have been her husband who is resurrected and not the criminal???
This is a fantastical story, so I buy into the premise, the resurrection and everything. But then the story has to be water tight. Maybe later I understand more but atp it is all over the place for me.
After watching 2 Gatao movies, I understand that these movies don't have any definite ending. They are more like a short story, open for interpretation. But I liked the action scenes. if it stuck to action only and didn't introduce melodrama here and there, imo it would have been better. Still a solid watch, specially if one is a fan of old school Taiwanese movies.
not the friends wanting him with Ryuki instead of Bomi lol.
Ya, right?😁😂🤣 Ryuki imo would have been great in a group with people around his age. He is still thinking about muscles and Red-flag boy friends where as the others are thinking about love as a metaphor 😊🤭. Ryuki has my heart and I wish we could see more of him.
I have no idea why I feel so strongly about this that I want to comment this here, but the situation where Tomoaki…
Please don't get me wrong, I also felt very bad for Hiroya but I understood where Tomoaki was coming from. He has insecurities, acceptance issues and he said at the very beginning that he takes things negatively first. However, he did come around and apologized. He is working on himself I believe and coming to the show was one step towards that. And I am happy that both could move beyond. Hiroya was brave to approach the topic even and he also learnt from the incident.
I'm still confused on how Huwei keeps mentioning Ryuki was an option but he is not approaching him ever to have…
I was surprised too. Why would he show both their photos to his friends and ask them to guess. And bummer, his friends guessed it was Ryuki. Then I rationalized it by thinking Huwei probably just wanted to tease his friends and see how well they know him 😁🤫
