I wonder if the folks in the neighboring apartment heard me yell "WHAT THE F**K" when Kuea, after a restless night…
This is a good analogy. For example, Not Me's sex scene is one of the most explicit ones GMMTV has ever done (if not THE most explicit), but it doesn't feel cheap or like it's in there just for fanservice. It serves a purpose to move the plot and establish the fact that the relationship between the characters is moving forward because they fully understand and trust each other. So, even though there are still secrets between them, it doesn't feel like the writers are using sex to mask the problem.

I am guessing that at some point he traumatized Diao or got him hurt or something. And it was probably lesser…
The novel reminds me of fanfiction you'd write when you were like 13.

It was a super popular novel so it's not surprising that it got adapted, just like shitty Wattpad novels like Kissing Booth and After got adapted on Netflix.

Yi and Diao's bed scene feels illegal. It's like watching a thirthy something adult sleeping with a teen 😭
Yi looks like Diao's teacher or something

At least it's a dog here, in the novel it was a tiger lmaooo.

Also the novel has this plot that Diao's family doesn't give a shit about him and Yi and Yi's dad want to protect him and keep him away from them.

IDK about anyone else, but I want to give this show a proper review- and to do that, one must actually get through…
I agree. The company that produced Gen Y listened to criticism and actually has a good show out now (What Zabb Man). Idk if Dormundi will listen since this formula is working for them, but the fact that they were out-trended by KinnPorsche even in Thailand the past two weeks should give them something of a wake up call

How tf this has 8.1 rating 😬
I'm having a tough time comprehending that this has nearly the same rating as To My Star.

Wait, so Lian's resolve to start a relationship with Kuea once he came clean about Kirin only lasted 14 days?…
He keeps saying things like 'you need to be good' and 'you didn't get to go because you were being naughty' and then has the GALL to get angry when Kuea isn't honest with him? Like no shit, he's terrified of you. I also found it very telling that the first brief moment Kuea realizes that Lian is the one in front of him when he's drunk is when Lian yells at him with his full name like a parent would while chiding their kid. That was the first red flag tbh

In the book, he apparently found out Kuea was Kirin when he went to Gemini to check out indie music and got so angry that he nearly broke the glass he was drinking from. If that isn't weird, idk what is.

Exactly. Young minds are so impressionable and the families grooming Kuea to be the 'perfect housewife' for Lian is just so creepy.

I mean, Lian probably felt the pressure to step into a caregiver role because of it too, but he's also the party with more power just by sheer age difference and (clear) mental maturity alone.

*Sigh* I REALLY wish CP was a story about adult Kuea suddenly being told he was engaged to Lian and fighting it.

I find the last argument so weird because this series WAS marketed as light and fluffy? From the Kdrama-esque production to the filters on everyone's faces. It's not like Teddy Bear that was supposed to be light but ended up being heavy and gritty.

Also, the novel argument is weird too because an adaptation should be able to stand on its own? And the novel (from what I've seen from the translations) is even worse than the show so lol

Even a 25 year old being into an 18-year old is still creepy, and that's when both of them are legal adults.

Like are people really not seeing how creepy this is or do they just not want to admit it?

The only reason the author gave both main couples a 7-year age gap is to fetishize the traditional 'son/father' dynamic a lot of semes and ukes have. No other reason.

It would've been just as creepy in a heterosexual relationship? In fact, creeps like this get called out all the time in Hollywood etc and they're almost always het relationships.

What is your logic exactly? So, Lian knew about his sexuality at age 7 or Kuea? Because it's creepy both ways

Lian must’ve started learning about sexuality etc at age 13-14 and Kuea would’ve only been 6 or 7? Like it’s even worse than they knew each other as kids, it wouldn’t have been as bad if they met and/or only developed romantic/sexual feelings for each other in their 20s

Damn, Lian has really had to go through a lot, pray for him.

But on a more serious note, if he's been waiting 'forever' to have sex with Kuea, then he's been eying him since he was a minor? Considering Kuea just turned 20 and Lian is 7 years older than him.

Things between them are just getting creepier and creepier.
