Okay so i am now 40 and 100% agree lol. Its a real change of perspective! Like over 30 would-ve been fine, but those few years really make a difference!
Since it's based on the CDrama Go Ahead, we can assume that yes, it will be a love triangle, but if it goes along those lines, it does not carry out aa generically and intensely as you might expect from your usual triangle. I would still encourage you to check it out! (And also watch Go Ahead - one of the best modern CDramas ever)
I'm a decades long Korean dramas watcher. You've explained the use of "Oppa" well. But knowing how it's supposed…
Oh, totally agree! If you're not from the culture or living there and speaking the language, or have a Korean partner who insists on being called that, it's best not to use it. That's just weird and objectifying.

I mean, Red Wine in the Dark Night and Pony Boy are pretty intense, but I dunno if they get quite this level. The later DID make me pretty uncomfortable, frustrated, and confused af though, so comparable!
Okay, so like....tbh I feel like all the torture and implements were completely unecessary and wholey gratuitous, and it's shame because at the heart of this was a pretty damn good story about loss, grief, and finding the will to live for something (someone) else. The ending was really well done. And I suppose it was on purpose, but really the only time I saw any passion in the actors was during the only consensual moments. The whole thing just left me cold, and I'm not remotely vanilla but...yeah. Watch at your own risk, but there IS a good story here and it's performed well.
But...it's hard to really appreciate that ending knowing all the terrible things the doctor did with pretty much the stupidest reasoning. I think I was expecting torment/bdsm elements more like in KinnePorsche with Vegas and Pete, but that's not really what we got here. It's really just assault and toys, aaaaand, yeah I not a great time, but the last half hour was pretty great imo, even if it didn't make up for the first hour lol
A year later, lol, but anyway - Not always! But it is very common due to the turmoil of war. Usually when the ending is happy it's sad for nearly everyone else and it may feel a little contrived or unbelievable (but I love them anyway lol).
Also not ALL republican eras deal with war. Some of them focus more on the businesses that boomed right before and the difficulties with in the family. You'll usually get happy endings out of those, but way less excitement lol
Okay, hotness aside (I KNOW it's great but hear me out), the plot is actually super fun and pretty tight and well…
Also I DIED when they revealed the ML had already been left majority share of her company and was absolutely rolling on ep 13! Great acting on the FL's part. I loved how she was just smiling innocently like, "Huh, why ever are you so concerned about the shares, my super loyal and loving fiance who loves me for me, hmmm? Please guide my thumb to the paper now. :) "
I am so ready for her to wreck these people. (p.s. Honey the forced kiss was great but what TERRIBLE timing! Poor dumb ML. Absolutely love him and his terrible decision making. 10/10.)
Okay, hotness aside (I KNOW it's great but hear me out), the plot is actually super fun and pretty tight and well done? Is it generic? Sure. But the beats are great and overall I'm having a good time watching. The AI subs aren't too bad either. You might have to loosen your interpretations a little bit, but you can still get what's going on, especially if you've watching enough CDrama to recognize the more cliche phrases. (Like every time he's telling people to "roll", he means, "eff off" lmao, or "you never treated me candid" means, "You never opened up to me.")
But yeah, if you like Korean Makjang, Thai slap/kiss or...whatever the super dramatic toxic CDrama genre is called, you will enjoy this, and you get all the fun dramatics without the business filler.
So I am looking for a good Chinese drama. I am pointing some key points which I would prefer. But even if they…
Story of Ming Lan, Story of Yanxi Palace, The Glamorous Imperial Concubine, The Imperial Doctress, Under the Power (actors are young but it's really really good), Scarlet Heart (starts out with time travel but this element disappears very fast), Singing All Along, Rise of the Phoenixes.
These don't really hit number 4 well since you've watched most of them. Under the Power might though, since it's a bit more into the crime/investigation part.
I'm not really sure what to make of this series. It's kind of like Club Sapan/Club Friday meets Bangkok Love Stories…
The university stories are lighter romances within their own type of genre. This series is by Jojo, who is openly gay and writes his dramas to be more realistic and less of a romantic fantasy. He uses a lot of his own and his friends' experiences as inspiration. I don't really think anyone is moving past anything. There's a place for all the different themes/genres for whoever wants to watch them.
FTR, I also get tired of the university theme, but there's always going to be younger (especially Thai) audiences that appreciate them.
an kinnporsche dad is younger and playing every where i see💜🖖
Lol, Kob is a famous Thai actor/singer who has been in lakorns since the 90s! I was surprised to see him in KinnPorsche tbh. Someone must have had a connection to get him in it, or he just reeeealy liked the story!
I can't take another realisticish drama about infidelity again, especially with Jang Nara suffering the whole way through.

Legend of Condor Heros is on Viki now btw, if you've never seen it. That's a classic Wuxia that had a lot with defining the genre.
