It's dragging pretty bad at this point. The ML chasing FL is the only plot they have left to extend these episodes…
Instead of stretching this, they could've just let us see how the throne was taken over. 😂 Instead of lingering on the chase, they should show us how the characters are rebuilding their connection. That way, it's well paced, so no time is wasted.
get a grip dude lol. I'm a 34 y,o. MAN and I don't see anything wrong with LMT's actions. relax on the red pill…
I don't think anyone here wants to be kidnapped or lied to. Let's not be petty and contextualize things the way they should be contextualized. In the drama, the circumstance required the ML to lie (he is an official of the kingdom and had a duty to protect the royal fam and the people) to FL (who is a threat to national security). Hence, it's what he did. Neither of the characters knew they would end up liking each other but they did. So let's not make it a case as if people who contextualized their opinion on the show would want to be kidnapped and be lied on in reality. That's not the premise of the discussion. The premise is the drama's situation and what authority the characters have to deal with it.
Omg girllll...😩 This is my problem with the show too. Like I feel NO emotion from her at all. Nothing. She's…
+1 to this. I'm more invested on Xueji and best boy is still CXZ. 😂 In fact I don't want anything romantic happening between LMT and CXZ anymore. I will just feel it's forced (because they focused on chasing instead of rebuilding connection). Like, they can be allies and defeat big baddie and then part ways. That's what's more likely to happen in reality given the trajectory of the story right now.
The writer should have added 5 minutes (or even less) screen time for LMT to have a monologue, worrying about…
Thank you. This is what I have been discussing in detail in my comments the whole time. LMT's actions are contradicting with her supposed feelings for ML. Yes, at this point, the correct term is 'supposed' as it's never clear she has feelings for him still. Her being sad hearing about the marriage (after being indifferent for numerous occasions without reason) just felt like someone forcefully threw the scene in to keep some viewers in their fantasies. 😅 This isn't even the sad part. The sad part is that some of us still don't see the problem in the FL's characterization post amnesia. 😅
At least on my end, since love triangle was easily taken out of the equation, I was expecting scenes to be tense…
I feel you. I actually just returned to dramas for Zhang Wan Yi. 😂 I first saw him in the period drama Awakening Age in a supporting role. While he's okay here, I still think he did so much better in that supporting role. He stood out in that and I followed him since. But yeah, that's another story altogether. 😂

I get you. But yeah, just so you pretty much get the idea where the exaggerated back and forth seems to root from. 😅 It's pretty much the fact that an idea about the production in general (time constraints, scenes that should be given prominence, character sketch and its conflict with the overall writing) is being likened to bashing a character when it isn't. As a comedy, dragging ML's groveling works, but the magic of comedic timing can only stay for so long. As a romantic series, the writer/s' chosen direction of the ML's (chasing the FL) arc becomes worn out. I guess this particular view of mine is the reason why others might think I'm an FL anti (and my stance that some of her actions towards ML is unearned, added to that). I just logged in one day and was kind of surprised when people suddenly talked about ML deserving this and that, and people are confusing and using feminism or women empowerment as tools to devalue ML, when I'm sure at the beginning, they enjoyed watching (at least a bit) how the ML was doing all sorts of diversion whenever he's with the FL (esp since those were the scenes where the comedic approach worked best). I haven't read the novel either so I have not much say in that. In general (and if I haven't seen too many comments I beg to disagree on) I also deemed it a more light hearted show in comparison to its contemporaries. At the end of the day, regardless I've achieved mutual understanding or not with other commenters, I don't take them personally. I just like the back and forth of ideas in general (I learn new stuff) and it does keep me busy while waiting for the drama's next ep. 😅
Am I too old or too patient? What is with the comments? I rarely log in but this comment section got me STRESSED…
At least on my end, since love triangle was easily taken out of the equation, I was expecting scenes to be tense (despite it being a comedy too) in terms of fighting big baddie. We're down to 12 episodes and it still feels draggy and one of the reasons I'm seeing is ML's simp arc. In my comments I always made sure that it's clear that ML is not without fault. Which to others, immediately translates as me, being okay with FL being lied to or me invalidating FL's feelings which is a far cry from the truth (I trust there are others who experience this too). 😅
Like any other adaptations from novel to screen, or any screenplay in general, there is a timeframe from which all scenes in the whole story should have happened. For movies, it's mostly 1hr 45mins to 3hrs. For streaming platforms and tv, it can be 15 episodes (with running time ranging from 15mins to 30mins per ep) to 40 episodes (with a running time of 45mins to 1hr). That said, as much as we want everything to be translated on screen especially if it is an adaptation of what we read, there are moments when the production just can't. And there are also moments when they could have gone a particular direction to even the scenes with the timeframe but instead made poor decisions on distributing these events (scenes) in what little time they have. So there will be moments when we feel like, "ending seems rushed" or that, "they should have added more episodes". To me, this drama seems to be heading for the latter. Of course, until it is finished, I wouldn't know.
At the rate the story is progressing however (with most of us noticing it dragging), it seems more likely for us to be presented with late reconciliation, no build up of renewed relationship, a screen letter that says big baddie was defeated, and a 5min montage of all character arcs closing. All of which, is hard to swallow.
For others to think I am an FL anti just because I would rather see a simp arc montage (which means we won't see too much of ML groveling, but we'll see a justified reconciliation) than a montage ending (with us wishing for more episodes), then I guess, they can continue seeing me as an FL anti. 😅 For the record though, I never saw ML as purely innocent and never advocated forgiving him easily. Neither am I an FL anti. If anything, I dislike how both their characters were reduced by the writer/s to something other than their well crafted selves in the beginning.
IKR. It is fun and entertaining but it feels a bit too much for me.At least we will have fun this week, with the…
This is why we think the chase has to end by now. If they can reduce scenes that way, surely they can squeeze ML groveling for an episode or two. Beyond that is a lot.
To be fair, he is my arch enemy. Why would I expect him to not lie to me? People are not saying they will forgive…
The thing is, I taught feminism as a Social Science teacher, and FL's actions is spelling nothing like an empowered woman and a feminist (anyone supporting her in that context, and saying she was well written is weird). When the one writing has no deep understanding of what actual woman empowerment is and what a feministic movement encapsulates, the character ends up being butchered. As in the case of our poor Mian Tang.

P.S. I agree the comment section is stressful. 😂
