Because of the terrible deviation from the novel, I have found myself re-reading the fall out of the leads and…
As I see it, most of ML supporters weren't even hating on FL. They are criticizing how both characters were written (ML turning into a simp in the blink of an eye and FL becoming insufferable) for the screen adaptation. I just wonder why some people don't get that.
hmmmmm. I didn't expect to come here and see many anti-FL comments, it honestly made me raise an eyebrow.so let…
To be fair, he is my arch enemy. Why would I expect him to not lie to me? People are not saying they will forgive him easily if they were in her shoes. Why do others immediately jump to that idea? You want him to grovel? Fine, make him grovel. But since this is not a show that goes on for a whole year, like any adaptation on screen, his groveling can be squeezed to a few minutes of montage that if beautifully crafted, would suffice. Nobody would wonder why FL forgave him, and nobody would question ML for not chasing. They'd have more time to rebuild their relationship so that when the series ends, we can appreciate it more because we have seen the relationship was founded strong and they're not slapping us with a scene of her forgiving him and gives us a 5min clip of what happened after they achieved their goals (and wishing it didn't include all supporting character arcs closing).
Let's not reduce supporting ML to being an FL anti because that is far from the truth. Just like you, others want an FL that is strong, decisive, independent, brave and whatever other trait that floats your boat. Being cold and detached doesn't show any of that. And that is frustrating because in the beginning of the series, she was all of what we hoped her to be even with amnesia. To begin with, prior amnesia, she wasn't cold and detached as Lu Wen. Now that she's remembered she's Lu Wen, being indifferent is suddenly her real self? It's contradicting and it's irksome. And yes, let's not go back to 'she was lied to hence the reaction'. That is getting old. It's as old as a few episodes back when she cleared all their debts. Or was she lying to get back at him? I am genuinely asking for enlightenment.
No one is invalidating FL's feelings. It's just that her grievances could have been translated on the screen properly (like an internal monologue at least once or twice) so that it justifies her actions.
I read some comments saying that the amnesiac LMT was not her since she was lied to. Because the story makes it…
I am with you. I'm actually thinking that her motivations will be revealed in the next episodes. I'm just impatient because of timeline. π If things happen otherwise, well, I'd have watched enough episodes to accept that's that. π
Can someone tell me when the main couple reconcile after ep 17? My heart cant take this :')
They'll still be somewhat fine in the next episodes. But we're on ep 28 and people are debating in the comments about FL's and ML's treatment of each other. That's the clue. π
ahh she need to make it painful for him this is very realistic if she cave in to soon, He is not going to understand…
After they reduced Ziyu overtaking the throne to just letters on the screen, nothing else can be called "too soon" as that. ML chasing FL arc would look like it's taking centuries in comparison. π
I would like to think we all debate out of love for this drama.π If we stay on topic, I don't take anything…
I don't take things personally even if it's already off topic. π I just like bouncing ideas. As you quoted, "people can change" so I might be persuaded to agree to an idea if presented logically and with good intent.
With the LMT hate bandwagon going on for the past few days here, I would like to share my own two cents on her…
I agree that she doesn't need a man to live a worthy life. But since most of the comments for this drama claim that she loves the ML deeply, I don't see the reason why she can't choose to, at the very least, treat him with respect (as a human being and not because they had a past). She's the type who doesn't compromise but is doing otherwise by pushing ML away. If she loves him enough, why should she conform to the idea that they can't be together? She already helped Ziyu become emperor (therefore, changing the system), how come she's still affected by societal norms? This is a genuine question btw, since I want to understand your perspective better.
As for her not knowing CXZ has made up his mind about making her his only wife, she should already have had an idea. After all, she knows He Zhen wanted to be Lord Huaiyang's concubine but was rejected, she's also aware about him canceling on Lady Lian. I guess, instead of saying she's not ready to become part of the harem, we can say she's not ready for committment. Realistically, that's more relatable since she has loved twice and was twice betrayed.
I think youβre confusing a lot of opinions here. Most are actually angry at the male lead, not the female lead.…
I think, what's mostly wrong is that when someone supports ML, it's immediately presumed that FL is being bashed or that her being a strong, independent woman is being invalidated. Likewise, when FL is supported, it is immediately assumed that the commenter hates ML. The thing is, it's not always the case. π
